I appreciate the response, but I'm not sure what this means exactly. Will we have an alternative to mousing over every single lootgen item to determine if it has a bonus effect?

Default Monk Enhancements not offered by trainers for VIP

This bug doesn't affect me personally as I am VIP and can access new enhancements through the icon on main page. But I have noticed that I cannot access new enhancements (of course after I earned them) by trainers. They simply do not let me and the trees do not show up. I must assume non-VIP's are getting access to the tree's via trainers or their would be much more noise -- or maybe everybody can access through their main page and so no one has mentioned this.

Gah, hit the bug check on another thread:

Warlock - Soul Eater Enhancement Capstone: Devour the Soul
Supposedly a Necromancy spell and increases DC via Necromancy boosts (Items, enhancements, etc). But my tests show it is a Conjuration spell instead that accepts Necro boosts. Was this intended or a bug that needs changing/fixing?

The Trainer's "Enhancements" option stopped functioning back when they launched the "new" (at the time) Enhancement Tree system with the Shadowfail expansion.

Nobody really cared much that I recal, because it was such a blessing being able to just use the Enhancements button from the DDO Symbol/Button anywhere instead of always having to go a trainer for Enhamcement fiddling.
I would still like to see... Something that tests character versatility and player adaptability rather than character focus strength and quest knowledge.
I play the quests for the content of the quests not just as an XP/min merry-go-round.
Actual play experience is worth infinitely more than theorycrafting...

I mean the type of fixes you are doing should be the continual improvement to the game that is updated weekly, and since the servers are restarted every week, can't they just load your fixes in each week? Then you'll know if they work on live in a relatively short timeframe but if you have to wait weeks then you may forget how you fixed it in the first place....

-Caster certain spells (I think I remember that from when I was a Melee FVS)

IMO, auto-attack should stay on until you explicitly disable it; otherwise you potentially loose half of second of DPS before you remember to turn it back on.

Is this bug or a feature? If auto-attack is left on while dead, does your spirit remain in the fighting stance? Would a valid workaround be to check a Boolean when you raise from the dead or finish searching?
I'd watch the hell out of that live-stream.

Auto-attack also turns off with playing bard songs, which I'm finding especially annoying on my ranged ranger because in boss fights I almost always just hit auto-attack (I don't generally play like that, though). And leveling Fatesinger, I keep singing... and then standing there watching the screen for like 2 minutes before realizing that I'm not attacking except with my special attacks, usually when I stop with the special attacks to type something in chat lol And also almost always after I've used a manyshot...

This gives me a sadface. Especially since it doesn't seem to make sense. I mean, why would Power Attack need to be off for any reason?

This may be outside your purview, but worth tossing out there just in case: Remember our toggles between sessions.

Power Attack (Precision stays toggled, so power attack should too)
    Sacred Defender stance
    Stalwart Defender stance
Eschew Materials (Is this the only metamagic that doesn't stay toggled? It's annoying.)

Those are the only ones I'm familiar with. I'm sure others know more.

EDIT: In case anyone is wondering about Eschew Materials, I use it for favor farming and when I make bank mules, both of which I often split into multiple gaming sessions to mitigate the tedium. It's annoying to have to manually right-click each and every spell on my hotbars to say "use eschew" and it's also annoying to get the message "you don't have the component" when I actively engage enemies I wanna kill.

Steel answered this one awhile ago.

Basically DDO was programmed really, really, really well and these abilities break when you log out and back on so if DDO remembered your toggle settings for them, you'd have to turn them off and back on again anyways. In order to 'force' players to re-toggle them they just have them set to shut off. A lesser of two evils scenario.

Unfortunately the way these abilities work and the systems they tie into are programmed (again) really, really, really well so it'll be some time before they can fix it. From what I understand they're on the radar to fix sometime around the time they figure out how to fix the ladder glitch.

She's trying to make the item effects uniform in description so that everything that we don't end up with Speed 3, Speed III and (hopefully?) a marriage of striding + alacrity. Also bringing back certain affixes/prefixes that were lost with the RNG update.

I got all that, and I'm glad she's doing it. I'm asking if there's any hope of fixing the complete lack of indication that an item has a bonus effect on it, thus forcing players to have to mouse over every single item to determine exactly what it offers. Because the bonus effects are often desirable, the unnecessarily tedious nature of searching for them is the biggest failure of the lootgen pass in my opinion. Many different suggestions have been made since the pass about how to fix this. Anything would be an improvement at this point.

Oh that remind me of one that has been bugging me for years.

The monk's 4 elemental strikes (earth, fire, water, air). Tier 2 to 4 all have the same tier 2 icons.

And yet the tier 3 and 4 icons already exist because they were used years ago. I assumed it's just bad copy/paste that never got fixed.

    Default 2 More to Consider

    1) Trackers Trap. The Mimics have string table errors instead of any text.

    2) A bigger request, probably not in your realm, but can always hope:

--Hireling Vendor in Meridia. It only sells up to level 16. As Heroic quests are up to lvl 18, and there are epic quests there as well. Can you add more contracts to the existing vendor, and add an Epic Vendor as well?

Could you please fix the tooltip you get from the airship amenity Old Sully's Grog Cellar? It gives +2 Charisma +2 Constitution but says "Your guild connections grant you bonuses."

    Thanks!

I'm part of a team, not working alone Steelstar is my mentor and has helped me every step of the way. Also, Sev is a space ninja or something. DDO is in great hands, seriously.

Just because what I'm doing is visible doesn't mean it's important. Right now we've got a huge number of people working on very important stuff, and I know if you guys knew what specifically you'd choose them over me, seriously. Luckily, no one has to choose anyone for anything, and the DDO team can work together to bring years of amazing content to you guys

These fixes are big now, but in a year, two years? Five years? Ten? The content, the classes, the events, that's what will keep people playing and happy. Right now, everyone but me is working on stuff like that.

As far as I'm aware (granted I haven't tested in over a year), Devour the Soul follows the following formula: 10 (base) + 8 (spell level) + charisma mod + necro school bonuses. Note that there is a hilarious feature which made people think it was coded as a 6th level spell - if you have heighten on, it brings the spell level down from an 8 to a 6. Further warlock level 100% doesn't factor into the formula at all. The formula above has been confirmed via pms, forum posts, etc. by devs.

Still given the misalignment between the tooltip formula description and the actual empirical formula, there could be something with conjuration dcs hidden - note it would have to be something EXTREMELY bizarre like "uses the higher of conjuration or necromancy bonus". When I did my tests a while back, I incremented various school bonuses (all except abjuration and transmutation) in an effort to be thorough.

Thats a bit of a shame, I'd like to see what Lynnabel could come up with for a dungeon.

Hey Steelstar, work Lynnabel super hard so she gets to the point she can make a dungeon before her internship ends!

Please fix the Social -> Friends tab to show the correct character level in the 'Lvl' column just as the Social -> Who tab does in the 'Level' column.

Lynnabel, firstly no offense to any of the others putting in the hard yards on the awesome stuff that is to come, I truly mean that, but I cannot stress enough to you that visible *IS* important. You only have to look at the community response to how visible, interactive and communicative you've been to see how important that is to us.

Perhaps b/c the others are so tied up busy that they don't have time to be as visible as you have been, or have their heads so firmly entrenched in mind-bending spaghetti code that they can't take time out of that without wrecking their flow, but that only makes it more important that if/while they are not able to do that, that someone else can.

Secondly, I get the excitement of moving on to bigger and better things, but please please please don't do it at the expense of the little things like those you've been working on. That has been happening for a long time now, and the result is that a myriad of little (but extremely annoying / disappointing) things that could've been fixed, haven't been, in favour of the "bigger and better things". You have only to look at how many fantastic things you've been able to address in a very short time to see that.

It's all very well to imagine all the amazing stuff that will come in the next 5 or 10 years, but imagine if we'd had someone for the LAST 5 or 10 years, spending a small amount of time here and there on some of the little things like you've been doing, and communicating that back to the player base ? Please don't lose that, it's a wonderful thing you've done.

Hehe, and last, I didn't mean to disparage Steel or Sev in any way, I was just cracking up at the mental image LrdSlvrHnd conjured up and I ran with the ball a bit. Sorry if it fell flat.
