The only way I can understand and sympathize with Eladrins post is if I'd put myself in his shoes and realize how much work I need to do right now between today and the 25th of june.

I completely understand that the developers are so overwhelmed right now with work that when they see cocnerns such as these, they simply don't have any desire to even waste a synapse on trying to understand this.

However, I'd immensely appreciate their honesty over their ignorance. If this topic is something that you folks would rather "leave for later" then just say so. But, saying an implied "NO" is distasteful.

I'll say the same thing I have said since the first thread when Star got completionist...

It should be granted as a free feat at L1.

And I say that as someone who WILL NEVER have a completionist.

Also, its time for "superwinning DDO". After giving the first completionist free, give them another stacking +2 for "supercompletionist" - 3 lives in each class.

The completionist feat may be more hit points but it is not toughness, as it does not unlock enhancements. The main thing it is good for at the moment is countering the effect of silver flame pots, keeping you from being incapped.

I actually thought it was going to be granted when I started grinding for it in 2008.

Why should "completionist" which is nothing more than time put in, be worth more than any other time sink "accomplishment" in ddo.

What about the guy that has 100 shrouds,
The guy with 1000 total raid completions,
The guy that solo leveled his guild to 100,
The guy that has 3 past life of every melee class, T
The guy that has 3 past life of every caster class.
What about the guy that spent XYZ hours testing on Lammania

Let's give them all a free +2 to all stats.

I'm not sure if I should even waste my time trying to elaborate on why your analogy completely fails in this context.

I decided I won't, but I'll give you some food for thought- do the raid completions (100 shrouds gave you 5 appropriate end rewards in compensation), guild achievements (and so that guy has his guild, its not competing with anything or at risk of being taken away), triple past lives (permanent), or lamannia testing hours (this is completely arbitrary, not an achievement) EVER become at risk of being taken away from you, are ever an obstacle to character change, or are ever limited by what character you decide to do it with?

Completionists are those guys. Well, I only have two so far of every melee class on top of every other class.

IMo all who think that completionist should not be TOTALLY FREE are only jealous, like Esopo's Fox&Grapes.
EXACT, to all those who have opposed the feat for free... get the Completionist if you are able

And Host forbid that there be any people in the world that have above average abilities, because someone with 1 or even 6 past lives could feel jealous that they arent as powerful as the guy with a minimum of 13.

As others have said, there are builds for which its not quite powerful enough to slot. Others use it just because its somewhat of an improvement over what theyre already getting (spell focus feats for example). Some will probably take it just because they can, even if it means "gimping" the build.

Its not gamebreaking if it stays the way it is. It would certainly not be gamebreaking to give it "for free" to people whove "paid" for it by getting all the PLs. It seems to me that many of the upcoming changes (whether its intentional or not) take away from the "uber" characters. The awesome 100 AC tanks have little meaning. The super-DC instakillers will kill slower. The barbs that can hit eLOB with all their PA penalties 95% of the time wont stand out so much anymore. And since I havent had the time to read everything, theres probably more.

More power to the little guy is fine. Having no "big guys" in comparison however, is not. Throwing completionists a bone (or at least not outright dismissing the option - as has been said, the dev team must be terribly busy with what they have on their plates right now, without adding new stuff) would IMHO be the sign that the changes being implemented are really meant to fulfill the first, not necessarily the second.

Sorry I went a little OT and ranty there guys, I swear it wasnt originally my intention. Oh well, just one of those days I guess...

I agree completionist is not an OP feat considering the accomplishment. With a glimpse of what is coming with epic dynasties, personally if completionist is not a free feat i will never tr another toon again. So Eladrin/Turbine if you enjoy selling true wood hearts, I would suggest coming off your position on this because talking to many veteran players in the game, many of us feel this sentiment. Just my two cents.

Yet again, the overwhelming majority of the responses seem to be in favor of making the work required to get this accomplishment be more worthwhile. However, it seems that the devs aren't so keen on listening to the community on this one. They instead are more devoted to nerfing power surge and coming up with random loot gen mechanics. Really makes no sense to me...

And those who did the grind to accomplish it are worthy of having it free, if every class had the same amount of feats to gain, I would agree with you Eladrin, as it stands, however, a sorc/barb have far fewer feats than say a wiz/fighter. If you say we win DDO for the accomplishment, why do we have to spend an existing feat to obtain it?

If it is such a powerful and worthy feat let me ask you this.

How many completionist have actually picked the feat up to now?

As a completionist, I am not planning to.

    Thumbs up

Some builds really need that feat to be free! Too much grind to not be able to take it because other "core" feats are required.
