These sound excellent. Sorry if we made you feel the raid is trivialized, We would have eventually figured things out. B***hed to no end. But the changes & feedback you (&feather) have given is encouraging & hopefully keep the neigh sayers bottled up until we can test it. So much negative feedback from people who haven't won't try raid is annoying. If people want to complain. Run the raid and judge from there.
Thank you and I look forward to doing it again.
There is no try. there is do or do not.

when the MotU was announced, there was a fairly large outcry of players who did not WANT to fight lolth in her own domain- it would be suicide. the best heros in ebberon are pawns of the gods in their own playing field. this raid wouldnt have fit thematically with dnd if we got to fight Lolth... in the demonweb.
ok, so tank and spank is out of the question.
puzzle quests are absolutely fun, but the novelty wears off quickly- von5 is a pikefest, as is titan pre-raid. cool to learn, zero replayability.
shroud is the BEST raid in the game. another shroud-style raid would have been my first choice had i had a hand in the decision making process.
escort raid? MAKES THE MOST SENSE. we are small, barely significant beings that are strong enough to ASSIST influencing the outcome in matters of the GODS.
there is much rage right now because it's not what we expected, and it's not exactly polished, but
ITS NEW. it's not A raid, right now it's THE raid. in 6 month's time it will be A raid. and it will still be different from every other raid in the game, past or future, and that gives this raid 10000 cool factor.
i think this was the correct decision on the developer's part, both in terms of the 'theme' of what's going on in the raid, and the fact that when 2, 3, 4 raids down the line, this escort quest raid will gain more respect as being a 'breath of fresh air' raid vs the 'been there done that' we've come to expect from turbine.
ask for something different, you get what you wish for- dont ask for something different and expect something different that's still well within your comfort zone. im excited for the raid, some of the other changes with this update leave me facepalming.
so i like what ive seen/read so far. Suck it.

Well in 6 months time it may just be A raid, but if the escort mechanic proves to be annoying in the least, it won`t just be A raid. It will be A DEAD raid. But who knows. Maybe the devs get this one right and it`s the best new thing for years to come. It could go either way, but starting with 2 strikes against it right out of the gate is a very risky move.

Something like greensteel, the most popular raid loot, would be a good thing. It let's you customize for the character you built. I would just hope it would be more useful than the greensteel to alchemical jump. Heck, I haven't bothered with alchemical weapons because for the characters I play, the marginal boost isn't worth the annoyance of getting to the raids. If it had more options like greensteel having accessories that are useful, maybe I would.

**Edit**
BETA ONLY Demonweb
The Demonweb… now featuring more shrines and evil!
** Ana Brabener no longer sees dead people. **
Elminster now looks more like his usual self in "Caught in the Web."
Lolth's spell point drain is toned down on easier difficulty settings. Lolth will not focus on Ana unless there is no other target in range that she can see.
Ana's dialogue now supports the new mechanic, where one Player is assigned to shield Ana from Lolth.
Fixed the name of "Mistress of Agonies"
** The raid now has *drumroll* raid loot!
Spelltraps now fire off properly in rough terrain.
Lolth spawns new spelltraps less often.
There is now a ceiling on the number of spellstraps Lolth will spawn at once, though she will move the traps around periodically. If her spelltraps aren't getting the job done, she will bring in monsters. If both of those strategies are going nicely for her, after a while she'll take some time to heal herself up a tiny bit.
Ana now teleports to her guardian if she falls off the edge, rather than to a random location.
Hey, I don't mean to take the wind out of your sails, but some of these changes are not going to be in Lamannia until Monday.
Loot, for instance, is still not there, and I'm still testing spell traps to work correctly.
Haha..oh man..
I really do hope you tie the chests to the optional artifact objective, rather than Ana's health. Squishy NPCs and / or annoying AI are most of the bugbears people have with escort missions. If you can't affect her health, it seems somewhat unfair to tie the reward outcome to it.
The least annoying NPC escort is the lass in Power Play, in my opinion - I also appreciated the sarcastic references to Coyle in her dialogue![]()
Terebinthia, Terebynthia, Tereana, Tereaina, Tereanna, Terebyte, Terechan, Terebinthis
The Hand of the Black Tower, Khyber.
Cupcakes welcomed.
These kinds of threads really concern me, before this raid hit open beta, (I would assume) it had already gone through:
Internal Testing
Mournlands Feedback
Closed Beta (for the brief time it was available there)
and there are alot of cases where the Devs seem genuinely surprised when many/most people really don't like something (like the whole NPC escort part of the raid). If this raid passed through Mournlands in the same condition as we are seeing (I'm talking quest mechanics, loot mechanics etc) putting bugs aside, if no-one there brought up that players might not like how its being done then either you have the wrong people there, the ones that are there are just agreeing with everything as being awesome or their feedback is not really being taken into account. I'm also really baffled that someone decided that the capstone encounter of the expansion was to be made using the buggiest and most despised quest mechanic(s) in the game.
Then, someone realized how much we hate failing a quest from something out of our control (NPC AI) so instead you made her more or less invincible, but made us lose chances to get loot based on what she does?
I really hope the changes being made (the guarding stuff, fixing various bugs etc) sort out the raid, but its getting *really* close to release and we all know how well rushed changes go.
The biggest problem I have had with most situations is changes being done and having no clue they would be an issue.
Now if it were for say a silly little part of the game then fair enough. when it is massive game changes or raid mechanics then I lose faith.
The Dev's and Players are not on the same page or path atm with the progression of the game :/ That's bad...
Don't let common sense stop you...
