    Normally, I would say: If you have the time, just read Junts's Guide: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=218542
    At the end, there are some sample builds.

    But soon Update 7 will come, which offers Intimidate as a Class Skill for Paladins, which will allow Pure Intimitanks, though they won't get the Tower Shield Profiency (as opposed to those with a Fighter splash).

    I don't quite get the mix of DPS and AC. The best AC you get by wearing a Shield, which will be less DPS than THF and TWF. What you could do is to go for a Bastard Sword Build, which offers glancing Blows while using a shield. Unfortunately, I don't know of a thread where such pally was posted and I don't feel experienced enough to post a build myself.

    let's see what I can do Since you want Decent AC AND DPS I thought it'd be better to use a Sword or Scimitar in primary hand and a Tower Shield in the off-hand. Otherwise just replace all the shield feats with ThF feats (TWF as a paladin won't work in this build :P)

    I would like a build the incorporates the following:
    Must use Falchion
    Must have some source of self healing (apart from pots) be it spells or umd
    Soloing ability is of utmost importance
    Cannot be paladin
    Monk level(s) would be nice (so i can feel justified in my purchase!)
    Any race
    Any class except paladin and FvS
    32 point
    no tomes or gear assumed apart from Falchion
    Goal of soloing Stormcleave at same level (ie, must be fairly powerful early and mid game, end game while nice, is probably something I will never reach so i need to be strong while I do play)

    At level 6 when you get the Rogue Mechanic enhancement you get proficiency with light repeating crossbows for free, and heavy repeating crossbows with Rogue Mechanic II

    I have to politely disagree with that build idea. No offense, but I think that this paladin build is flawed in too many aspects. Again, Junts's Guide is a really nice pice of literature: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=218542.


    Stats:

    Why do you take an even Con stat (16) on a Human when there is that nice +1 Con racial enhancement which unlocks Human Toughness III (which is cheaper than ), which would allow taking 15 Con, and having the same amount of HP in the most situations?

    14 Wis? This are 6 wasted build points. A pally can honestly not afford to do that.

    14 Cha on a Human Pally is way to low for my taste. This only unlocks Divine Might 2, provided a +2 Cha tome.

    Skills:
    Concentration + Heal? No Balance or UMD?

    Feats:

    You will only get benefits from the shield mastery feats when you block, which is quite a different thing than playing a DPS char.

    Multiple Toughness feats, but no Extend?

    Why Brutal Throw? Don't we want to melee?

    Oh ok. Was hoping for a build that would basically start out with it. I do have the veteran's status, but guess I just need to grind out 2 levels really fast then. Which ranged weapon should I use until then? Heavy crossbow? Light? Or another bow?

    Alright, thanks. Have another request if anyone is up for it, but I don't want to be greedy or annoying. Still trying to figure things out(only been playing a couple of weeks). Figured since I am new, I'd should probably focus more on leveling up a character and less time with endgame. So, here's my request. I'd like a build that's fun to level and does well solo and in a party(I mostly run with just a buddy of mine). F2P races(haven't unlocked drow yet) and multiclassing/pure is fine; just has to be F2P but have veteran status. Just loved the idea of starting out at level 4. Thanks!


    Edit: Just a simple question: How high of a level can F2P reasonably accomplish? I don't plan on staying F2P just want to know what to expect while I am.

    Actually, scratch that(apologies if anyone is in-progress making such a build, I will still consider it for another character). I instead would like a Bard build. Mainly combat oriented, but i want it to have decent SP so i can still heal and cast defensive buffs. I won't be using CC much, i don't like that style. I want to be support DPS/support healer, a mix between spell casting and close-combat. Also bardic songs of course.

    Most of the rest of my post still applies though. Preferably not too dependent on tomes(F2P), 28-pt. build, base races/classes with drow included, but i can meet these needs if they are required for such a build. If anyone can make a build like this, thanks! Or if anyone can direct me to where i can get information on such a build, that'd be great too.

    (also note: I'd prefer it to be a pure level 20 Bard, as i dislike multiclassing, but am willing to do so if it's needed to make this character useful)

    EDIT: I'm Toronith, i just can't access that account outside of game as i don't remember the password for it's forum account. Hope I'm not breaking any rules.

    I'm looking for a 32pt human rouge build with high attack, good survivability, and fair disabling. In terms of importance survivability is most important followed by attack and disabling. Please include what kind of weapons and armor the build uses

    Brutal Throw:

    It lets you use your Strength modifier instead of your dexterity modifier for Ranged Throwing Weapons. No matter what kind of build you are there are times you'll need to switch from melee to ranged, so having a feat that permits this is always a good thing to have.

    Toughness:

    You can take it sooner if you want or replace one of the later feats like Luck of the Heroes with another set of toughness, I chose level 12 because the paladin gets fairly good survivability in most dungeons up to that point.

    Enhancements:

    I put them all under level 20 because it's easier to read them like that. Take the Armor Class Boost 2 and all aura enhancements level 2 before anything else so you can get the Prestige Enhancement, Defender of Siberys.

    TwF:

    Two Weapon Fighting requires Dexterity, Paladins need high Constitution and Strength. Counterproductive.

    I just noticed that you take toughness twice, once at level 1, and once at level 12. Is that a mistake, or can you take toughness twice? Also, wouldn't Knight of the Chalice be better for a mainly DPS centred build?

    Yes, you can take Toughness twice, each of which grants you additional 22 HP. The first one is more important since it unlocks the racial and class toughness enhancements. Multiple Toughnesses are usually only taken on Builds which have lots of feats, such as Monk or Fighter.

    Yes, Knight of the Chalice or Hunter of the Dead offer more DPS than DoS.

    If you want to do yourself a favor, have a look at Junts's Guide to Creating Paladins. It offers a lot of useful information (and sample builds) regarding pallys.

    Multiple Toughness feats, but no Extend?

    Why Brutal Throw? Don't we want to melee?

    This is not a noob question, but merely a newb question.
    I'll have to politely disagree as well.

    Stats:

    Yes Constitution 16, hp is the most important thing for a DPS tank of any level imho (play as a cleric for two days with a mix of groups, you'll see how much you hate ANY DPS tank with less than 16 constitution). Clerics get really tired really fast of low hp DPS tanks.

    Wisdom 14 unlocks all 4 levels of paladin spells, and while it's true that I don't believe a lot of the spells are useful, I do like the idea of having Restoration without having to rely on the +6 wisdom item.

    Charisma "is" a little low in the build, but with the proper tomes and items it's up to taste. You're not going to get a Base Charisma of 20 without either giving up on DPS or cutting your base hp down to 310.

    Skills:

    Yea I pretty much randomly put skills in. I thought that I unchecked "skill points" in the DDO Character Planner. The major skills I find for this build are:
    *Balance (10)
    *UMD (max)
    *Heal (max)

    Feats:

    Yep Multiple toughness and if you want to take extend, I'd recommend pulling out one of the shield feats. The main selling point of the build is that its incredibly surviveable. Don't see why you'd want extend though tbh. Most of the paladin spells that have any use (Holy Sword, Death Ward, Stalwart Pack, restoration) either have no timers/instantaneous or have items to replace them (deathblock armor, or actually a cleric casting a better version than you can).

    There are situations in the game where you literally "can't" melee without getting killed on the way (a large number of traps in between you and the enemy, lava, etc.) and having a Brutal throw, along with a returning throwing dagger or two, gives you some ranged dps in these situations. I know you're probably thinking "leave it up to the ranger or caster", but consider that you "never" have a perfect party, better be able to live through anything than rely on others.
