Default 32 point build veteran award

Ive been playing this game since it arrived in Australia (about 1 month after US realease) during this time i have swapped servers (pre-merge) when it seemed Kyber was dying. and have not taken any character past the 10th level mark as I enjoy playing and building lowbies.

As a result of this playing style I have not ammased 1750 favour points in the years of game play... .. I cannot even bare to consider grinding the dungeons to do so... as i am a very casual player and no i have not suspened my account for any lenght of time.

Anyhow my request to the devs is.... Can 32 point builds be made avalible to the players of our ilk via some kind of vet award system?? I want the 32 point builds (particulary for a solo guy i want to make) but if i have to grind then i will never get one..

    Please consider.

Well look at it this way. by the time you are level 16 you should have about 900 favor. You can get about 400 favor a day at level 16 with 2 other 16s just running all the low stuff on elite. So should take you 1 weekend if you can find 2 other 16s to do it with you.

    1) I agree that new characters should not be rewarded on what old ones have done.
    2) If 1 weekend is too much to ask you for currently the most sought after reward in the game then sorry can't support that argument.

Dear Turbine: You are offering a reward I would like. However I am not interested in completing the goals listed for it. I think I deserve it because of other things I have done, can I please have it anyway?

well then i hope your not a dev

frankly i may never "earn" the 32 points but i hope the one game that claimed to "bust the grind mold" will see its way clear to fix its Grind Mill on favour.

    Dear turbine,

    I dont want to grind....

Can we non-grinders please be considered for 32 point builds.

    Kind Regards,

    Spill.

Question, how is building a dozen or so toons and running them through the same quests to reach 10 any less of a grind that running 1 through them on normal hard eltie? I mean since you can reach level 10 in 3 days easy if you have been playing for 2 years and never gotten past 10 you must have leveled up what about 200 alts. Now that one hell of a grind.

    Default good idea.

I think this is a good idea. My suggestion (however unworkable it would be) would be
to have a cumulative favor count on your account (sorry, still listed by server). When
you hit some arbitrary number, say around 10000 favor, 32 pt builds are unlocked.
The ten thousand number i picked was just an example. If the OP has been playing
that long, I don't see why giving him (her) and others in the same boat 32 pt builds
would be game breaking or even game altering in the slightest.

    Good luck.
The Office of the Exchequer. 1750 on all live servers via Pure pugging. Thank you very much to all who helped carry a gimp . (wayfinder was a soloist build)

And what do you then give the ones who did earn it? I mean I earned a tier 3 raid weapon. Should we hand them out to everyone whos been playing for a long time too?

Let me try and bring a perspective here..

you earned your Tier 3 raid weapon by playing a quest (hope you dident grind for it ;-) Much like i would get +3 str item from tangleroot (maybe)... and i guess you could call this a grind by drwaing a long bow.

But to get the 32 point build you have to (your suggestion) grind a weekend with lvl 16 guys to "earn" it.... not much of a comparison.

I agree you deserve your tier 3 raid weapon (wouldent be equipable by my guys anyhow) but 32 point builds are a Player reward not a character reward. if you can see the distinction.

Nothing, I give nothing . . . I believe that the OP has earned it. He hasn't earned the tome reward and shouldn't get it.
I don't know where you got the ridiculous idea for giving away "tier 3 raid weapons". It certainly wasn't from me.

I do see it. And I agree they never should have made future characters better by what old ones did. But they did. What I am saying is that you cant take away a reward from those who earned it unless you give them something else.

Should all accounts get 32 points and 1750 be a +3 tome of your choice?

wow, ok I had a brain thrust here. . . or at least I think I did.
How about, as an alternate, requiring a player to acquire 800 favor with
every character class in the game in order to unlock 32 pt? That way,
the player would have experience with all classes (at least one build) and
could best use the extra points granted by the favor reward?
That would decrease my 10000 suggestion by 2000 (when monks come out).
And I think it would be very fair and not "take" anything away from anyone.

I see you refuse to aquire favor so you don't want others to get any benifit for doing things you CHOOSE not to do.

Also please note that I like PnP and favor is actually very much in line with PnP. The rewards aren't but the idea is. Ever play in one of the living worlds for PnP? When you do every single task a king has ever asked of you, then you do tend to get rewarded. I mean everyone in the kingdom would be giving you free food, repair etc. Remember favor is like fame being the hero of the area. Do you think metropolis charges superman for a hot dog?

I want to see them keep favor as that and the market tent are the closest thing we have to resemble a living world here. I would like to see them NOT put in more do this and your next character can etc.....

I reiterate... 32 point builds are a Player reward.. not a Character reward.

Sure do your quests for house favour for your Toon and be the big "superman" of the server and scoff free buffs ;-) but 32 point builds are appealing to me as a Player so i can build an effective solo toon.

I am a casual player too, but I worked my character's a** off to get my 32 point build. It's not really as tough as it sounds. If you hit the quests at your level on normal/hard/elite you will get there in no time. Don't agree with "I'm a veteran so I should get the same stuff" idea.
