SWG was one of the worst designs with regard to grinding - leveling and crafting. There needs to be some balance between effort and reward. To create a game that caters exclusively to "hardcore grinders" is a bad business decision as well. What most of these companies are finding is that the majority of their player base are casual players. That's why people leave when they realize they can't achieve anything without weeks worth of grinding. Sony wouldn't have made a decision unless it benefitted the "majority" of the community. I personally think NGE was too far of a swing in the opposite direction but it was a far better model than the constant Jedi grind.
I dissagree with you about swg you didnt have to be a jedi(prepublish 9 myself and a village jedi) the gridning wasnt bad unless you were a jedi and I had more fun on either my doc or my bountyhunters then my jedi but it was nice if you wanted to to be a different class you just went and did it. When they removed that it wasnt swg anymore. And crafting swg had the best crafting ever until they killed it with looted items

Anyhow my request to the devs is.... Can 32 point builds be made avalible to the players of our ilk via some kind of vet award system?? I want the 32 point builds (particulary for a solo guy i want to make) but if i have to grind then i will never get one..

    Please consider.
Wah. I want something that others have had to work for, without having to do it.

Its an MMO. Its a Video game. It has grind. Nature of the beast. No MMO is grind free. Suck it up, or be stuck using 28pt characters or drow.

Wah. I get spam tells from goldfarmers. It's an MMO, it has goldfarmers, Suck it up, etc...

Some people work, others pay other people to work for them. The second group would use goldfarmers because their Time is more valuable than a few dollars.

Giving Account rewards [previously called Player rewards] for Character achievements is counter-productive and shouldn't have been done to begin with. Longevity awards to retain players WOULD be a good use of Account rewards. That's all the OP asked for.

The problem is that the OP wants the Longevity reward to be the same as the Account award already in place. If he had asked for ANYTHING else as a longevity reward this thread would not be 8 pages of discussion on the definition of the word "grind".

Instead he wanted the longevity reward to be the same as the account reward. This would be great for people that have been playing a long time and never got around to getting 1750 favor, however for a great number of long time players this reward is completely worthless. If they made a longevity reward that was some cute trinket and gave 32pnt builds as a secondary award you would not see as many people against it.

The suggestion that he do quests he has not done at all just once on elite is somehow a grind for him. The idea that he would have to go through it several times is false. All he would have to do is put up a LFM with the quest name asking for an opener and set the level range to be in his range. Instead he comes back with "well I would only get a lvl 13 to join for no xp and he would want to rush through it". If he is forming the group he can just tell those players "Sorry but that is not how I want to do the quest".

It comes down to he does not even want to try.

My Question to Spill would be...

Why wont you go above lvl 10. If you like the first 10 levels so much you run them over and over,
Why would you not want to see the rest of the game.
Its like reading a book to me , and liking the first 30 pages.
Then you stop there and never read the rest of the book.
Dont you want to know how the story ends?

When you played PNP and you hit your cap at level ten, did you start a whole new game?
Or did you continue playing the lvl 10 anyway? Just not getting experience?

Alot of my guildies would like to run favor, and I hated it , it was like a grind to me so I understand that.
They always wanted my help , but running WW over and over again and other low lvl quests were not for me.
But in time of playing and having fun with them , exploring new quests , boom , I had 1750.
You have played long enough to get it , just chose not too. That is your choice.
But the rest of the book is just as good as the first 30 pages and I hope one day you will get to read it.
