1.) Add a reading comprehension test to the installer (Little John's mother got 3 children, Bobby, Tommy and...)

2.) Make the combat log spam an accounts first character with the cause of his death and how he can prevent the same thing from happening again in big red letters
A FIRE ELEMENTAL FRIED YOUR SORRY BOTTOM, GO BUY POTIONS OF FIRE RESISTENCE OR ASK YOUR LOCAL CASTER TO CAST IT ON YOU

3.) Make raid bosses taunt players who don't bypass their DR on higher difficulties
Harry:"*Yawn* You're planning to tickle me to death with that lousy axe, Spoprockel?"

    1. UI Scaling
    2. No Store-only items
    3. Difficulty settings for explorer areas, with seperate kill/explorer/rare counts and XP rewards for each difficulty.

    Explanations:

    1. So many games have this - including LOTRO, turbine's other main product based off the same engine - that i cannot fathom for the life of me why DDO doesn't. Considering the number of action bars many players tend to need, to be able to shring or grow the UI objects independently of the game's overall resolution seems like a real no brainer to me.

    2. I'm looking at you, Astral Diamonds, all types of hearts of wood, anit mummy potions, additional bank slots that add to favor-earned bankslots. Everything should be able to be earned in game directly, not by the 'grinding favour for TPs method' - even if its rare as the proverbial rocking horse ****. Thus staying true to the continually stated claim that everything is available 'in game' - which is only true on such a tenuous technicality that whoever came up with it is most likely going to that very special place reserved in the afterlife for people who work in marketing... and politicians.

    3. This would, at a stroke, assist with levelling in the 'sparse' ranges of 13-20, if people could go back and run lower level explorer areas on elite. Plus I really like to pop into the explorer zones when I'm soloing, waiting for groups to fill or friends to come online etc, cos you can leave anytime and its nice to be getting favour and occasional XP while I do it.

Yeah that's right, number 3 is a purely selfish, very thinly veiled '*I* want it' request dressed up as a 'surely you can all see how good this would be' plea for validation. Like a certain poster constantly requesting PVP improvements. The others... I just think would be sensible.

And shouldn't this thread be under 'suggestions'?

    - stop the dps race
    - stop to nerf feats & weapons & enhancements : ddo is more & more a dps + healer game, back to initial ddo variety
    - restart to design quests and raids implying players brain effort

    3 things I'd like:
    1. new high level raids
    2. remove dungeon alert
    3. more advantages to being VIP
(optional 4. more guild management: custom grades, log for the guild chest and so on)

I do remember them saying it - or at least I remember reading it in an interview or blog post from Fernando.

By the same token, however I can find no links so my memory is worth precisely nothing. I will continue to exercise what little google-fu skills I have to find the quote I'm looking for.

Have the favour rewards different but close in usefullness.
I like this, but the favor system would have to be reworked in some other ways as well.

    3) PvP
No, not Player vs Player, Party vs Party.
Quests where you are pitted against a team of other players.
Picture a storm the keep type quest with one group playing the part of the attackers (wtih mobs to help) and the other group playing the part of the defenders (with mobs to help).
Or a Stormcleave type map with parties starting at either end of the map and competing for completion to claim the rewards.

What would you like to see?
That would be interesting, but I doubt it would be doable.

People being cursed for 3-4 days at a time sure taught you fast not to just say hey they are only kobalds lets do elite...
    Old DDO sounds so cool.

    1. Better NPC acting. Kobolds and minotarus have distinctive behaviors. I like that and I wish there was more of it. Even the simple stuff like slime dropping down from the ceiling or splashing out from behind a grate, or skeletons rising from skeleton appropreate scenery is nice.

    2. More interesting spell interactions. Fire burning web was a great improvement and I'm looking forward to the gusts of wind in update 7.

    3. Better combat logs and combat feedback. I'd like a more vorpaly effect for vorpals than the current turn blue and die thing. It doesn't have to be fancy, something like the slay living skull, or even a 2d sprite (like hamstring, destruction, curse etc...) would be nice. Failing that I'd like to be able to have more options for filtering combat logs.

    1. GS revamp. T1 @ Lvl 14, T2 @ 16, T3 @ 18.
    2. Player death to have meaningful downside.
    3. MORE CHALLENGE!

Many good ideas so far! I love the party v party idea!

    My 3cp:

    1) Wilderness zone traps - punji stakes, tiger pits, etc. The ability to "disarm" them would go to rangers (and eventually druids). Ditto making them (and quest traps) random.

    2) Just like we have quests that require someone to open locks (effectively requiring an arcane caster/UMD or trapmonkey), how about a quest (or perhaps optional) that requires a skinny little halfling or elf/drow to squeeze through a tight place, or a pressure plate that can only be activated by a heavy dwarf, warforged or (soon) half-orc?

    3) A "solve the mystery" quest like the game Clue, where the identity of the perpetrator randomly changed. The programmers could take their cue from the old "Carmen Sandiego" games, where various clues would lead you to get a warrant for a certain known crook. Something that required your brain more than your finger.

    1. Completely balanced classes (as long as mine are MORE balanced than the others)...
    2. Lowest possible drop rates for the most wanted items
    3. Something other than Broccoli to go with the Bacon and Ham

    1. armor to have meaning at high levels (either better AC for heavy armor or natural DR for heavier armor types)
    2. Custom Cosmetic changes available for armor and maybe weapons
    3. Shields to have more usefulness (maybe craftable shields, GS?)

    1) Remove SP pots from game and take most shrine out of game...

->one shrine for most quests should be enough.

    2) Remove immunities from most mobs but make them stronger

-> A good caster will be more important but will still need the dps from fighter typs. Nerfing Waves of F is the wrong way... we will just see more dps required this way and its already boring the way it is now.

    3) Make more situations where AOE intant spells (like fireball) and social skill like intimidate will be required.

Like "don't let any kobolds enter the summuning circle or quest will fail. And spawn tons of them... a normal dps fighter shouldnt cut it here. Also include situations were ranged combat is needed, even if you are not an AA.

    Oh yeah and:

    1) More cosmetics... actually let us decide how our chars look... not the items we have.

    2) Make armor typs more vital (like DR 1 on light, 2 medium and 3 on heavy)

    3) make stealth more important on quests... like "pull that lever before the alarm is sounded!"

    1. Mobs can't jump atop bookcases, window frames, ledges.
    2. Favor weighted so that the more you earn, the more TP you receive.
    3. More emotes

there are so many things (like true randomized dungeons), but i want to list stuff that is realistic to add in the not-so-far future:

    1. equipment looks customization (honestly, you have done it in lotro, just do it in DDO too!)
    2. druids
    3. more content between 17 and 20, that does NOT mean epic
