Transfer characters between accounts

Using IP's would certainly help in the process, however, could not be the only part of the process as many people travel and will carry DDO on their laptops.

But I agree, adding IP verification would probably already be part of their process seeing as they probably already know the general IP usages of most farmers.

A history is a few months or more who is going to wait that time your arguments have no weight.

just cause you dont know anyone who would do that doesnt mean noone would

Erm. Many parents who open new accounts for their kids do this. It's nothing new.

Turbine could certainly make this happen, and here's why. First, you'd have to pay for each additional character slot in the main account or else you wouldn't have enough room for all of those characters in the first place. Then you'd have to pay for each account you were merging into the main one. Finally, they'd of course want to make it a service only available to VIP subscribers with at least 6 months left on their subscriptions.

As long as they can find a way to make it pay, they can find a way to do it.

6 months left? Most pay monthly lol 6months left no but as for rest of post you are right they can prob make a decent sum of cash.

Again, if you read the rest of my posts, Turbine already has this problem with farmers setting up F2P accounts, farming out a character and selling it.

I'm sure they've already got things in place to take care of these cases, allowing character transfers would simply fall under the same "check" system.

Huh? What do you mean? You asked how you could open multiple accounts for one Turbine Account so I told you that it's a feature that been around for a long time and is mainly used by parents for their kids. I posted right after you did on page 1 and you're telling me to read the entire thread first?

People are into things for instant gratifacation that is human nature a very rare person will wait 3 months maybe.

Having a history means having a historey of activity like most would need atleast 6 months or more to prove it.

NOONE I mean NOONE will is going to wait 6 months or even 3 for a account.

Seriously if they are it is already happening lol

This will change nothing and make nothing easier to sell.

If anything it might help catch people especially if IP addresses and such are checked and I am sure with something like this it would be.

And as to telling someone to read whole post maybe you should take own advice you missed it 2 times before and had to be told to reread.

Aye, that's why I said typically login...if a particular account logs in from multiple locations constantly, then that could be considered a red flag, and subject to the disclaimer that unverifiable accounts will not be transferred.

Wouldn't be perfect, but in most cases, each account probably logs in from the same IP subnet 80-90% of the time. I doubt that there are many accounts that move around frequently enough to be a problem.

Exactly. It would certainly add a red flag to the request and then possibly make turbine dig a little deeper into both accounts, quite possibly ending up with someone getting their accounts closed

Without getting into the nitty-gritty....basically an ISP is assigned a "block" of IP addresses. That means they can only use certain IP numbers. Despite your router changing the IP on a regular basis, your ISP only lets you have certain ones....all of which point back to them and their general location.

Truth is, one of my other MMOs did this. There was a problem of people having too many accounts similar to what happened here as they increased the character limit cap so they just made an event where those who wanted to merge accounts have one chance and one chance only and only during that event to merge their accounts and they did not offer it ever again.

It worked because being a one-off event, the platsellers couldn't make it into a profitable business and everyone got their accounts merged. And Visty, you don't really know what we're trying to say here.
