They're not.

But if the IPs are different, and the account information doesn't match up....and, and, and.....

I'm not a Turbine employee, I don't know the process. I'm sure they have something in place though. I'm not worried about it.

the general location is germany or bavaria (not entirely sure, havent checked that recently), there were ips for several citys some which arent really that near to where i live
still a very big region

I found this site 3 seconds after a google search, and while I cannot attest to it's veracity, it shows exactly what I was talking about. Turbine could very easily (and most likely for little money or effort) get a similar IP map by ISP and use it to determine geographical locations.

Yes, ALL dynamic IPs change constantly...anywhere from every hour to every few months, but you will always have an IP from the same block that your ISP is assigned, unless you physically change providers and/or locations.

Changing providers would not necessarily be a red flag, provided both providers supply IPs to say...towns in Germany...or towns in Southern Australia, but when your login comes from China one day, Belgium 6 hours later, and then New Zealand 2 hours after that...you might have yourself a farmer.

Let me explain. When I said:

There was a problem of people having too many accounts similar to what happened here as they increased the character limit cap so they just made an event where those who wanted to merge accounts have one chance and one chance only and only during that event to merge their accounts and they did not offer it ever again.

It worked because being a one-off event, the platsellers couldn't make it into a profitable business and everyone got their accounts merged. And Visty, you don't really know what we're trying to say here.

I made the same suggestion a few weeks ago. I fully back them doing this, and would gladly pay/use TPs to do it.

As imple fail safe can be 6 months of same CC before you can make any transfers, and maybe you have to pay for a year upfront on the second acct.

And guys...chill, please. This is a suggestion, and we are discussing ways to make it possible, if it is...this arguing is making it much less likely that a Turbine employee will look at it and take it seriously, for better, or for worse.

Yeah, I fully agree, using CC history etc etc can be trickier. But as stated earlier, they can start with the accounts under the same login and make some quick cash while they work out the details for other options.

sure, it may only be a part of it, but it would require a huge check each time, and turbine just doesnt have the manpower for that

Well, that's where the checks and balances come in...hopefully Turbine would not jump on an account simply because of matching IPs, but matching IPs, plus CC history, plus account history, etc., can add up to a pretty convincing list of evidence.

Again, this is just a tool that can be used to help the process...not the solution.

No doubt, which is why I offered this as a SECOND choice.

I only wanted transfers for accounts within the SAME login. The other options would by far require higher attention, BUT, they could charge more for it to should they add it in
