Transfer characters between accounts

There are many of us still in game that have been around long enough to remember the old "8 characters per account" limit (which was later increased to 10 etc etc).

For those of us who really enjoyed the game, this resulted in many of us obtaining (and paying full price for) multiple accounts so that we could continue to build new characters and enjoy the game even further.

However, since the creation of F2P several things have changed:

- the allowing of up to 30 character slots (I think, don't quote me) per account
- many new items in game are now bound to account
- epic raid and quest tokens are bound to account
- many DDO store purchases are bound to account

With all these changes, it is making it more and more difficult to want to play our various characters among these different accounts.

What I would like to see is the ability to transfer characters between accounts. Now, I don't mean ANY account. I mean accounts that are all under the same login name and paid by the same account information or possibly even allow people who have multiple login's, but a solid Credit Card history proving they own the account. By doing this, Turbine could avoid having people "sell" their characters to other people.

I've asked Turbine support team before, and they've said "they're working on it", but it has been over a year since I got that response and sadly have not heard anything since.

Yes, I am aware that Turbine loves $$ (what company doesn't !) and probably enjoys our extra money from the second, third, fourth etc accounts. But I'm sure by allowing us to at least merge some of the characters in those accounts to allow us to make better use of the bound to account features, may result in an overall happier customer base.

I'm curious now, how many other people are out there that are in the same place as myself and many of my in game friends and would be interested to pay for such a feature ?

Having multiple accounts under ONE login name IS possible and you CANNOT add other existing accounts to that login, ONLY new accounts.

Also, having the credit card history and other verifications to merge accounts with DIFFERENT login name would be entirely up to Turbine itself to verify and possibly putting your own account at risk should they determine it being an invalid request (account isn't really yours). The character transfer at that point would require more effort on their behalf and justly cost a higher price. (See other posts for more details)

No. But perhaps an Account MERGE as in all your accounts and characters go under one new account.

You know I am and have multiple accts under different login names but same CC and account holder info.

I would love something like this to combine those 2 accounts but doubt turbine will ever do because they love are extra cash that we put out every month for those extra accounts.

How can plat farmers be involved if the characters are under the SAME login name but just different accounts under that login ?

The credit card option I suggested would be entirely at Turbine's choice. It it looks wrong, they don't need to approve it.

Read his post transfer between accounts with same information such as cc and account holder names like Joe schmuck.

As long as they meet criteria will keep the farming away unless someone steeling your account info then turbine has issues and I will cancel in heartbeat if my account info is out for others to see and use.

Actually you're very wrong here. I currently have 5 accounts under the same login name. I simply went to my account at turbine and added another purchased account to the existing "main" account (login)

When you log in, you're provided the list of accounts, then asked to choose one to actually log onto.

If under same account holder info and such unless someone is stealing info from turbine then what are you talking about?

If someone iss stealing info that opens turbine to a bunch of lawsuits and such and I doubt they would let that happen.

I had the impression that he was asking for character transfers and this means that each character can be freely transferred between his accounts (under the same credit card). However, an account merge would include ALL characters between ALL accounts. Instead of making a one character at a time thing, make it a once-off thing where all accounts merged into one.

This can help those who made multiple accounts to bypass the character limit.

Thats why he said account history of cc use and account holder if don't have same history of use then you can't do it.

If you are stupid enough to give all account info to a platfarmer you are an idiot not a good example at all.

Anyone who passes there personal info around to a company like that is just dumb.

Truth is, one of my other MMOs did this. There was a problem of people having too many accounts similar to what happened here as they increased the character limit cap so they just made an event where those who wanted to merge accounts have one chance and one chance only and only during that event to merge their accounts and they did not offer it ever again.

It worked because being a one-off event, the platsellers couldn't make it into a profitable business and everyone got their accounts merged. And Visty, you don't really know what we're trying to say here.
