HOnestly? Because it's annoying. No one said you didn't have a right to do anything. But it takes a special kind of person to get overly upset and then rationalize their behavior by pointing to unreasonable expectations. We all know the type, and we all try to stay away from those types of people in real life. It's harder to do here.

And in case you aren't just a drama queen with unreasonable expectations, I'll give you a hint. Technology doesn't work the way you think it does. DDO has very few non-update related down times compared to other MMOs. It's just the nature of the business. If this upsets you so, I don't think MMOs are the place for you, because you clearly can't handle something that happens quite frequently.

I understand MMo's all have issues, and I respect the right of those who pay for a product to bicth about the product when it fails to live up to its promises. I doubt you would simply not ***** if a problem outside of your electric companies control resulted in you having no power for a few days. Yes some ppl ***** to ***** and some ppl ***** about ppl *****ing for the exact same reason. I'll tell ya what the next time you order a burger from a rrsteraunt and they spit on it don't complain, according to your logic it isn't the resteraunts fault that they had an employee who sucked. Well I guess I got lucky. I was playing all afternoon and just barely got kicked out about 20 minutes ago or so. Was talking to the destiny npc and it DCed. Now I can't log back in. No wonder there were just two of us in the guild all afternoon lol. I was wondering what happened to everyone.

I was planning on farming for some +4 and 5 tomes while we had a loot bonus going on. It just gets very frustrating that over the course of the past month it has been nothing but lag, bugs, 2 hot fixes, Old bugs from more then a year ago making a come back. Yet none of it really is fixed. It just boggles the mind. Honestly if there was this much incompetence on a job with me someone would be fired, or a whole crew would be fired. With DDO all we get is Please be patient with us as we work to resolve the problem.

I can relate to your frustrations. Coming from a tech support background myself, I've seen this kind of mess from both sides. When my tools stop working for inexplicable reasons, it boggles my mind, too. I was looking forward to getting my recently created hero through the Korthos Island quests working up to Elite to max them all out.

I also hate it when this sort of thing happens, but I've learned that software functionality for any purpose cannot be guaranteed. I don't know why this happened. Maybe it is because someone failed. Maybe it's because of malice from a third party. Maybe a server just quit. Maybe it's for another reason.

All I think needs to be done here is to just relax and see if it's still a problem tomorrow.

You were never "promised" no down time, you simply made that up in your head. Having technology fail is not that same as someone spitting on your food. Technology failing is an inevitable situation that happens, and spitting on someone's burger is a malicious act someone has decided to engage in.
