Like the sent hammer, but for augment crystals.
Like the sent hammer, but for augment crystals.
After mulling this over to understand what is being asked (all this short hand no wonder there is so much miscommunication in the world), I think I figured out what you are asking for.
Let me know if I still didn't get it...
You are asking if there are Sentient Hammers with augment slots.
The answer is yes. Off the top of my head...
Check out this list https://ddowiki.com/page/Category:War_Hammers
Any of the Named type War Hammers ML 20+
Not included in that list are the Epic Versions of the Barovian and Night Mother War Hammers that also have an augment and are Sentient capable.
op is talking about the item you get from gen vendors to destroy sentience in an item
he wants one for augs.
so do i
There are several high-level named items that drop w/ augments - which prevents you from using them as sentient food. Don't know if this was intended, but it's really frustrating.
Are there detrimental reasons to keep an augment in an item?
Are there any augments with awful downsides?
I don't see why you'd want to remove an augment and not place a new one in...
I think the devs have stated before that the Augment system is coded totally different than the Sentience system, and that difference means they cant implement Augment Destroyers.
Something like if they tried, it'd end up destroying every augment in every copy of the same item on the whole server or something.
I also seem to recall a dev saying something along those lines, but I don't believe it for a second. How do jeweler's toolkits work, by magic?
I think the real reason they don't bother to make destroyers is because you can already remove them with toolkits. And in true Turbine/SSG corrupt-a-wish fashion, the smart money says they'd price destroyers in the store the same as toolkits so it would be literally pointless to make them.
You can't feed an item to a sentient weapon if it has an augment slotted.

It could be but they would have flatout lied to our faces. If that would be true and it came to light they would lose a lot of their customers. Since I don't have prove, they have the benefit of a doubt.
But on top of that, it would be too easy to feed sentient jewels. And they need to keep that grind up and going.
Cheers,
Titus.

This is the only Dev post I found:
"We agree that an Augment Destroyer would be a useful add. However, Augments and Filigree are implemented in very different ways at the moment, and while the Filigree Destroyer was not a complex get, an analogous Augment Destroyer would be, and would need to be implemented in a way that is not especially future-friendly (...or performance-friendly, for that matter). It'd also take a non-insignificant amount of time that would likely be better spent fixing the Augment system itself (making the above awkward, laggy implementation unnecessary).
I wouldn't say it's in our short-term plans, but if we can make the changes we'd like to, an Augment Destroyer would be much more likely to happen. "
