    Ah, I think there's the rub. When I was playing self-healing builds were not unheard of but uncommon, so a lot of pugs would fill to five and then wait for a healer. Looking through the lfg panel confirms it - this is no longer the case, and the niche I was looking to fill simply doesn't exist anymore. Oh well! The SLA build does seem better anyway, I'll give it a whirl when I unlock drow.

    If not, the Warpriest's is better (+1 vs. Traps, which should stack), and Mech can drop 2 pts in Sharpshooter and spend the other 1 anywhere.

    (Also - Smite Foe: "Melee"? Thought he was shying away from melee, no? Either way, neither Str nor Dex are anything to count on for landing attacks.) :/


    And I think he could get away with this minor tweak and be better off, no?

    o +2 Wisdom to start, +1 @ end, for better Spell Points Saves, etc
    o +1 Str (for 25 lbs more lift)
    o -1 in one Trapping skill (I chose Search, b/c of Drow's +2 to Search. Could as easily be Spot, or even DD or 2 points in Concentration - dealer's choice)
    o And he drops, I dunno... Diplomacy 4 as a Lvl 1 buy. Several to choose from to toss over the side.

    You could also go further and dump 2 points total from Int, lose 3 points total in (whichever) Trapping skills, and get 6 more build points to play with, but that's bigger decisions. Just an option.

    That's also why we were confused in our initial replies. We see "cleric with trapping skills" and immediately think "soloist."

    If you're less firm on the healbotting, the mechanic variation I posted would be much, much stronger than the SLA one, and still be able to healbot as needed/desired.

    They do. The key is that they do different things, as you point out. Enhancements that do different things stack. I believe (IIRC) that all the Awareness enhancements are slightly different for this exact reason.

    Both are equally (completely) useless, so I picked the one that was more obviously useless. It's just to unlock tier 1s.

    Either way it's largely moot.

    This is one of those rare builds where I found the stat levelups to be almost wholly unnecessary. I could rationalize doing the levelups in Wisdom, Intelligence, Charisma, Constitution, or even (if you squint) Strength and the build would still be fine.

    The reset cost increase when you are doing it several times in the same day, but reset each day. Plus it's cheaper when you have few points in the enhancement tree, so don't hesitate to reset soon, in order to try new things.
