Default Cannith Challenge Supply Chests - Please make them openable at any level

This weekend I did Cannith Challenges for the first time, and probably put six hours into them. They're fun!

An annoyance I encountered is that when my character did challenges at a higher level than its character level, I ended up with a backpack full of supply chests which I can't open. Those chests are a level or two higher than my character level, and they won't let me open them until I reach that level. Would it be possible to please make supply chests openable at any level, regardless of the chests' treasure level?

I'm tempted to delete these high level supply chests, but one of the lower level supply chests I was able to open dropped a Collapsed Portable Hole. They aren't all junk.

That's one of the reasons I feel good about taking my heroic challenge farmer to 16: Running CR20 challenges, I can open the chests.

If I do take my challenge farmer to level 16 and need to farm up some of the low level challenges for mats, how much of a penalty to mats would I incur if I run those level 15 challenges?

10%, which isn't too bad. And those are so easy you'll typically be taking a 10% penalty to a very large score, so you still get plenty of mats per run.

Thanks for the advice! I'll hang onto them, and will go ahead and level up after the bonus mats weekend is over.

If you have the character slot to spare, you could always make a level 8-10 alt specifically for farming low-level Challenges in the CR 13-15 range. At least level 8 to get into the ML:8 challenges; no more than level 10 so you can run CR 15 for max bonus ingredients for the CR:4-15 challenges. EDIT: plus there's some pretty nice ML:9-10 gear in heroic White Plume and Ravenloft; might be fun to base a build on what's available there.
