Default Resetting Key Bindings and now can do nothing

Was resetting my key bindings and now I cannot click on any screen item. I can Ctrl-O to open Options Menu but mouse select will not work, nor the ability to activate scroll bar in Option Menu Window.

In Game, Left mouse button "Attacks", but that is all.

I Trashed the client and preferences in my Documents folder and downloaded a new client. After install, the problem persists. Since my hotbars are also still the same, I must have missed another config file somewhere.

Any constructive ideas would be helpful. I am now dead in the water in terms of playing the game.

You said you trashed preferences in the DDO folder under My Documents; do you mean you deleted the options file, or deleted the whole folder? If the former, there's a separate key mapping file.

Try renaming the DDO folder under My Document to anything different for a complete reset, assuming you didn't already try deleting it.

    Thanks.

Did as you suggested. Renamed folder and then rebooted client. Went through EULA screens again and then had to pick primary server again. Same issue once back into the game.

UserPreferences.ini is the file in the D&D folder in my Documents directory.

C:\Users\whatever your windows user name is\Documents\Dungeons and Dragons Online

    ddo.keymap

Make sure that you are in the correct user folder. For example, you might be running the game as admin, which would be a different documents folder then yours...

He or she is on a Mac which is a little different. I had this happen recently.

Try this: click on a the Documents main file division-->Dungeons & Dragons Online

You should see now two files: a folder with screenshots and Userpreferences.ini.

    Delete the Userpreferences.INi.

Reboot the game, but do not select a character. Click OPtions and under key mapping, click the default button

Thanks, tried a couple of cycles of this including going into a world I have no characters on. Only choice I can click on and work is a character. Clicking on Options, or anything else for that matter, does not work.

Doh, reading comp fail. Still, Is not the file keymap and not userpreferences? And does Mac client not segragate files based on who is logged into the computer? Deleteing the files should reset to defaults. He said he did that, therefore???

it might; I am not tech savvy. That is the one file I have managed to find. I had the same issue.

same thing happened to me INEXPLICABLY. what i had to do was locate and delete the ddo.keymap file in ~/Library/Application Support/com.turbine.dndclient by opening finder, pressing command shift G, and pasting that path in. once you restart, the game will recreate the default file.
