    Default Attack key mapping problem

I've been trying to run my characters using keys instead of the mouse, using the ideas supplied by Gingerspyce. However, I have a recurring problem which seem to affect my higher lev characters.

I have "Attack" mapped to Num Enter but sometimes it just switches itself off. I can get the functionality back by reselecting weapons a couple of times but even that is inconsistent.

I also have "Attack / Interact" mapped to "Button 0"

    Does anyone have a solution?

I do it similarly, but use 4 as my attack key. The logic being that if my finger is typically on 4, the other number keys are all right there within easy access. A long time ago I set up an image of my challenge farmer monk's key mapping:

I've used setups very similar to this for all my characters (though the / and * keys next to numlock are usually self-heals) the entire time I've played, and haven't noticed any issues like you describe. Maybe Enter is treated differently?

The only thing to keep in mind is that when the mouse is hovering over a hotbar, the "4" key is treated like left arrow and instead of attacking, it pans the camera left. So I've just become accustomed to keeping the mouse in the middle of the screen. (As can be seen in most any of my videos, like this one, where the mouse is just kind of sitting there in the middle of the screen, ignored and alone, while the keyboard gets all the combat glory.)

    Hey There!

So myself being a gingerspyce fan i suggest you watching a video of him running LOD with a keyboard cam here is the URL -

I have experienced this problem aswell, and what i had noticed when upgrading my PC to a higher rig it was also better with the keymapps. Ginger has a nice PC so thats why i do not believe he has this problem. I used to have a dual core clocked at 1ghz processor with intergrated graphics to play with and keymapping was very jumpy and did not work. Now i have a better rig its smooth .

Not only this but when upgrading keyboards you can also be affected. It is what you paid for. Paying £5 for a keyboard you will expect to have issues where you will not with a 50 one. I upgraded mine from a £11 to a £56 and it was so much smoother. Whilst playing on a laptop my father owns i reliesed his keyboard cannot have two buttons working at once. That may be the problem.

Sometimes i cannot attack aswell. This happens when i opened a window eg- inventory/xp list/Guild/character-sheet, and my mouse was on it. What i have to do after closing the window is left click again with my mouse anywhere and i can use my attack again!

Anyways hope this worked, if not then pray to the DDO GODS.

    Take care man!
