What's in your TR cache?

Warning: Big List.

With characters losing items from their reincarnation caches, I decided to write down what should appear in my character’s cache as a record in case. And since I've found similar lists (such as https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthrea...=1#post5690095) interesting, I thought I might share it, and see if anyone else has made such lists.

From my list, I think the TR cache should be able to hold 280 items with all bank and backpack upgrades. My list has 274 items, and I had two blank inventory spaces (where my teleport scrolls and Heart of True Blood were), and four blank cosmetic spaces (thankfully all of mine are Bound to Account).

I always find it difficult to decide what to keep, and it seems that the new random items (unbound) are now often better than my character’s old named items. In the life I just completed I found a random ring with both +7 Charisma and +7 Constitution on it, which is better than any of my character’s old named heroic items.

Since you have such a large list, when you TR make sure to pull some stuff out before you start saying you lost stuff. Some may not show up immediately cause of how much is in it. Also I'd consider throwing away stuff that's easy to get(like the wand you get from jeets after completing tutorial).

The list in the OP seems like overkill. For me, the cannith crafting pass brought with it the great purge of my TR caches. I have five "mains":

This guy's TR cache is still a bit of a mess since I prepped him with some key items for various class lives. (I'm doing a pure build for every class as my completionist project.) I'm hanging onto way too much obsolete pale master gear, which I'll get rid of once I figure out his actual pale master gear. But that won't be for many lives yet, so no rush.

Yes, how easy something is to get, is an important factor when deciding what to delete before reincarnating. (Typically, I'll have found some more Bound to Character items from the most recent update, so will need to delete some old BTC items to keep any new BTC ones.) This is why I tend to keep quite a lot of weird items that may not be particularly powerful. Interestingly, the starter eternal wands I actually put in that category: I don't think it's possible to get a new one without reincarnating, and you can only pick one each life. I don't think it's possible for a non-reincarnated character to have both. I do take your point though, I could delete one of the two before reincarnating.

For perspective, I only play one character, who I reincarnate occasionally. My character is not any form of Completionist, though I do have quite a few past lives, and obviously many related legacy items.

I am quite amazed at how minimal your TR caches are / how great your TR cache purge must have been! From an item power perspective, I certainly agree that the Cannith crafting pass (and indeed even the new random items in treasure chests) would allow me to purge a lot of old named items. Having spoken to a few people in game, it seems it is quite common now to make a set of Cannith crafted items at certain favourite levels. I have also met a few people wearing heroic Slave Lords crafted items until level 20 on their multiple-reincarnated characters, and sometimes even 28! A party member today actually linked me two different five-piece heroic Slave Lords crafted sets that are worn by their character at the same time (which takes up all but two equipment slots) all the way until level 20!

For some reason though, I still like a lot of my old items, particularly the ones with more unique effects. Probably it's just nostalgia. However, no doubt I'll want lots of items from the Ravenloft expansion, so I will be forced to do a purge soon in any case.

This I can empathise with. I am keeping lots of Green Steel items due to a lack of yellow dopant. It is also heartening to see I am not the only one filling my character's cache with challenge tokens and shards of power

The TR caches are only the half of it, actually. My character banks themselves are also empty. I'd bought additional bank space on some of them, but now it's mostly tumbleweeds.

After the cannith crafting pass I crafted up a universal melee gearset for leveling my paladin, fighter, and ranger. All I needed was a single new bank mule to store all of that shared gear in a nice, organized manner. That left my mains with not only purged TR caches but also purged character banks:

My TR cache has a lot of disorganized junk, and some BtC items. And my Ogre Khan Skull keepsake.

I sell potions, consumables and any items on my character that I can buy back and use immediately in my next life. I get rid of junk off my character just until I can clear my TR cache. As soon as I can empty the cache into inventory or bank space I declare success and TR. I figure that's as clean as it needs to be, since the goal is to TR, not spend time housecleaning.

This is an interesting exercise.

One thing I started to do was realize what items I don't need to keep - Such as

Things that are guaranteed end rewards.
Things I've ended up with multiples of - (I was surprised at these)
Consumables -> why am I not using these? Especially why hold onto various Loot Boosts, slayer counts etc.

This is not an easy process especially the longer you have been collecting.

Thought I’d post a quick follow-up now that I have confirmed my whole cache made it. The somewhat interesting discovery (or confirmation, not sure if this is already known) is that items in your character’s bank will appear at the top of your reincarnation cache, above items on your character and in your character’s backpack. As to the order within each half, I am not sure; but it certainly does not correspond to any kind of left-to-right or top-to-bottom etc. order of the bank/backpack pages.

I found this quite useful, since I had my bank and backpack ordered as per the above list, and they split quite well between equipment and weapons/armour.
