The majority of the industry has either eliminated 3rd party hosting or imposed variable pricing based on consumption.
To address the market, Photobucket has added unlimited hosting to its Plus 500 Subscription plan at a competitive fixed price.

In other words..
If you don't upgrade to Plus500 you no longer can 3rd party link pic's..

yeah.. not going to pay $40/month to link images into things like the DDO forums..
Now I am annoyed since any embedded images I had historically created with photobucket are all now broken.
so.. photobucket is now dead to me..

I created a IMGUR account for free..
there are probably many other low cost/free options out there..

any other good ones..

Not a bad idea about Google Drive never thought about doing it like that.

Personally I use PostIMG now since Imgur stopped working for some weird reason.

When ImageShack went pay I switched to postimage.

Google Drive is a good idea.

Photobucket just dove from the Cliff of Importance, bounced off the Rock of Insignificance, and landed in the River of Consequences.

I give them less than a year of this post to remain solvent.

This adds an extension that makes the pictures visible; this is not mine, I found this on another forum. The google fix does work for me, I didn't try the firefox one.

I tried to get google drive to work but haven't. Thanks Impaqt. I'm going to continue to work with it on the likely chance that photobucket will soon be gone completely.
