So I'm examining T5 of DWS for my dex based TWF Elf Ranger Tempest. 98% melee and don't often pick up the bow.
Currently using T5 Tempest and the following:
Core - Dervish: +4 Dexterity. +25% chance to doublestrike with your off-hand while dual wielding. While wearing light or no armor: +10 Melee Power, Physical Resistance Rating, and Magical Resistance Rating.
Whirling Blades: +3 to hit and damage while dual wielding.
Many Cuts: Passive: +4% Doublestrike, +4 Melee Power. I like to minimize the clickies and already have a bunch, including LD destiny clickies.
Dual Perfection: Your off hand weapon now adds your full attribute damage modifier.
Looking at T5 DWS:
Core - Horizon Shot: You gain +4 Dexterity and +3 Sneak Attack Dice. +20 Positive Spell Power. +20 Melee Power +20 Ranged Power
Strikes Like Lightning: You gain +10% Doublestrike and +20% Doubleshot
Head Shot: Melee version. +5[W] attack that is automatically considered a critical threat. On hit, blinds the opponent for 6 seconds. (Fortitude save negates, 14 + Ranger level + Dexterity Mod + Tactical Feat DCs) Cooldown: 12 seconds.
Improved Archer's Focus: Passive: +5 Melee Power and +5 Ranged Power
So if I went to T5 DWS I'd lose:
+25% chance to doublestrike with your off-hand
Off hand weapon now adds your full attribute damage modifier.
+3 to hit and damage
+10 PRR/MRR
But with T5 DWS net gain:
11 melee power
+3 Sneak Attack Dice (or an average of 10.5 damage per sneak attack and always doing SA dmg).
+6% Doublestrike
I'm not sure how to quantify the offhand numbers with tempest.
Anyone run the numbers before or have any thoughts?
However, I'd maybe have to invest more points into junk DWS to hit T5, which would likely be the deal breaker.
Thanks!
