    Default Crafting Unbound Gear question

Hello all, with the new Cannith Crafting I decided to take the plunge and craft some gear for my daughter's toon on a second account. I thought I crafted an unbound piece of armor, but when I was finished it was BTA on my account.

Here are the steps I took:

    1) Disjuncted a set of armor.
    2) Made an unbound fortification shard.
    3) Made an unbound deathblock shard.
    4) Placed the shards (in two steps) into the armor in the unbound item crafting station.
    5) Tried to trade the armor but could not because it was BTA.

I went back in my chat log and confirmed the above...I never used a bound workstation. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Was the suit of armour droploot, or something previous crafted (and BTA)?

It was randomly generated loot I bought off the AH (after buying a bunch of cheap sets and trying them on so my daughter could pick the look she wanted. Yes, I played virtual dress up with my daughter).

The only thing I can think of now is the step you left out - did you make an unbound shard of ML #? (and if you did, and it was auto-gathered into a bag, are you 100% sure you took that shard out, and not a bound shard of same ML? They're the same color (really devs?), so easy to mix up.)

I did make a ML shard...I forgot to put that step in...but now that you say this, I am not sure I made it unbound (I made it at a different time). C-Dog, thanks for your help!

Well, it seems the only possible explanation (and was something that ~I'd~ do). :/

Hope your daughter appreciates her new "double-crafted" designer outfit!

This has happened to me three times now. Double augment slot goggles and two rings are now BtA, ever got near a bound workstation. After noticing the first ring was BtA, made 100% sure everything was unbound. Double checked before crafting on goggles. Still became BtA. Every weapon i've crafted has remained unbound and allowed me small profit on the AH. But non weapons seem to be binding when they shouldn't. I put in a ticket but it's not like they could unbind my items for me. I just wanted someone to know that this problem does seem to occur for reasons unknown.

Out of curiosity, could it be related to purifieds? Some unbound ML shards cost purifieds when you apply them to an item. (Not when you craft them.)

Is it possible that the weapons you made unbound were lower level, and thus involved no purifieds when attaching the ML shard, and that the accessories were higher level and did involve purifieds to attach the ML shards?

Well, this seems clearly as non-WAI bug.

Summon any devs in thread! 8)

For future crafting, I suggest you pass the shards to the person who is actually going to be using the item. You can have 0 crafting levels and still apply the already crafted shards. In this case, I bet the min lvl shard is the guilty party.

Thanks for taking the time to respond I was curious to know if you were right so i tested it, going through step by step with several items and different min lvls. I found i could apply min lvl shards up to 30 and a pair of gloves remained unbound. A ring remained unbound after min lvl 1 applied but became BtA when featherfall was added.
