    Default archer/trapmonkey

I'm looking for a build that focuses mainly on ranged combat using a bow and has epic-elite trap skills. Can anyone point me to a good build?

The first question is: do you have monk and if so, do you want to make a monkcher?

If the answer to either is "no," then the easiest option is to take the Tempest trapmonkey and tweak it a little to be archer-focused. Note that if you want the AA capstone on a multiclassed build, you need to be elf or half-elf to take the racial tree.

As for EE trapskills that's mostly going to depend on your gear. You may also want to consider my Manyshot Mechanic: it's primarily a repeater build but it can switch to bows for Manyshot, now that there's no Doubleshot penalty.

Seems like a pure rogue mechanic (or 18/2 rogue/artificer) would be a better way to go. Do you want to use longbows for flavor?

Off the top of my head...

Feats (presumes elf or HE): Point Blank Shot (1), Precision (3), Quicken (6), Imp Crit Ranged (9), Empower Heal (12), ??? (15), ??? (18), Overwhelming Crit (21), Combat Archery (24), PTWF or Holy Strike (26), ??? (27), Doubleshot (28)

Enhancements (thru lvl 24): at least 33 APs rgr AA (Slaying + Shadow Arrow), 31 APs DWS (Mark of the Hunted), up to 16 APs racial tree or elsewhere

Enhancements (lvl 25+): 14 APs elf or HE (unlock racial AA tree), 41 APs racial AA (capstone), 24 APs DWS (Adv Sneak Atk, Killer), 1 AP ???

The downside to splashing a ranger is losing the capstone; +20% Doubleshot is now a significant DPS boost for archers. Fortunately, if you play an elf or HE, you can get the AA cap back at lvl 25.

I'm fairly pleased with my 18 Monk/1 Ranger/1 Arti monkcher/trapper in epic levels, but it was one of the more annoying builds I've ran through heroics.

Sorry for the long delay in response, RL became a bit overwhelming and the game got sidelined.

Thanks for the responses and help - I believe I can make a pretty good Ranger from here.
