Care to explain why my level 4 char is denied to participate?
He is in the level 1-5 instance yet can not enter the quests for the other ingredients because for that you need to be level 7.
Why then have a level 1-5 instance at all?
What genius came up with that?

No it's different, i got the 4 free with the last code, and just got 4 more with this one.
Didn't have to relog either.
*just a side note, ran in the graveyard for an hour (just finished) and got 4 keys drop...Hmm doesn't seem like they upped the drop rate too much will do more testing*

Worked TY!!
Because the event has a minimum level of 7. And because people might want to run in the level 1-5 instance while over-level.
I'm not sure "what genius" came up with that; but I'm pretty sure they won't be rushing to get back to addressing your wounded feelings considering the sarcastic and nasty tone of your post.
That person's tone aside, it would be nice to have some explanation why the level restriction at the lower end. Why can't a 2nd level enter a 7th level quest here just like a 25th going in on 30th for extra ingredients?
There are rewards that are min level 4 to use yet only 7th level (thus over-powered) characters can earn them. I play permadeath so I can't farm up items with higher lvl toons and trade down etc. Why are over-powered characters rewarded at this low end and (supposedly) underpowered characters rewarded only at the high end?
Any explanation at all for this result would be lovely(which may have to do with coding or who knows what of course).
I don't see the advantage for this restriction and that choice managed to irritate a small sliver of the population. I'm hopeful I can get an explanation so I can tell my guild rather than "because DDO said so."
What I would like is the ability to enter at 2nd (or even 4th) level and there is no need to scale the quest down to that level-- leave it level 7. What is the argument against this? Maybe by cutting down lag maybe by reducing the number of people who can play?
It is very disappointing to me after the build-up of a new Mabar replacement to discover that I can not participate. Oh well, I am sure I will survive my grumpiness but I would love an explanation for the level restriction!

I noticed that in "The Snitch and the Lich" that the only rest shrine in there disappears, even if it was not used. Is that WAI?
(I could see maybe if it was used, disappearing...maybe...)

Related to this, Cannith Challenges have an unintended problem: You can't make the gear when you're the level you want to wear it.
A level 3 character cannot farm level 3 challenge gear.
A level 7 character cannot upgrade level 7 challenge gear to tier 2 or 3.
A level 11 character cannot farm level 11 gear, or even upgrade lowly level 7 gear to tier 2 or 3.
I'm planning a level 11 wizard who would really like to grab some of that tasty challenge caster gear, but will have to settle for tier 1 level 7 gear because of level restrictions. It feels kind of wrong that I can't make level 11 gear on a level 11 character, but it feels really wrong that I can't even make level 7 tier 2 gear. I'm level 11! (Or will be, anyway.)
I say this is an unintended problem because you used to be able to make any level gear on any character. The level restrictions were added later to prevent exploits, which is fine and reasonable. If possible, I'd like to see challenges expanded downward. Meaning (for example) if you need ingredient x to make an ML11 item, whatever challenge that ingredient comes from should have a minimum CR of 11. (Anything beyond level 7 tier 1 requires running challenges that have a minimum CR of 14 or 15.)
Really what it means is that all four "basic" challenges would expand from 4-15 to 3-15, and all other challenges would go to 7-20. (Some are 12-20, others 14-20, and a few are 15-20.) All level 7 tier 2 gear requires ingredients from the high level challenges, so just opening all of them to level 7 characters fixes the entire system.

Good Times ! Having a Blast !!
Thank you for upping the key drops! I feel it is about right now!
Ran a farm, solo and with raid group lots of fun, bitta lag (especially with aura's ggoing off everywhere), drops feel much better than the preview!
Sad to see some grieving already So Early in the event though, with that I mean players stepping in over level wilderness because of subjective feeling it pays better, but then spawning mobs so the higher level players in the range get the "monster to low" msg, REAL SAD ! DON'T DO THIS ! PLEASE !
Looking forward to run the challenges for mats
G-land, Balistas Magicas, Bashukar Bloodaxe, Kobur Curse of Dragon, Necromatix
the amount of chocolates and ingredients required for a single item is insanely high, someone talked about needing to run ~35 quests to get the ingredients needed for a single lv 24 item, the time sink required for everything is way higher than previous Halloween events.
Regarding pumpkin and skull grenades, since acquiring chocolates has become more grueling, the price for them should drop as well. 2:1 ratio of chocolates to grenades would feel appropriate, though even 3, 4, or 5 to 1 would be better than what it's at now.
Cannith: Slenderen (previously known as Slenderbot), Gurei, Biggorox, Kinkaku, Xier, Lrrrr, Tyngle
85 runs actually, (fresh item -> 24 upgrade)
But you Don't have to finish a level 24 item this year now do you ? I think with the old Mabar it took me 2 to 3 iterations of the event to get all my alts their stuff! There has to be reason to return next year.
For chocolates if you are really not getting enough grab a Draught and farm some Undead heavy quests!
G-land, Balistas Magicas, Bashukar Bloodaxe, Kobur Curse of Dragon, Necromatix
Event started out decent enough, I was averaging 8 keys per hour with a raid group in levels 26-30.
I was all ready to craft the cloak of night to 24.. until I saw the cost..
In the old Mabar to level a cloak from scratch I would need 4 Spectral scales, 1 vampire fangs, 2 lich dust, 7000 motes
.. ok so 4 spectral dragon runs and the rest would drop just running for keys and motes.
I then look up the new crafting ingredients since they did give us a chance with the new ingredients (even though screwed us and made our old ingredients invalid )
new total required..
1400 chocolates easy enough to farm trying to get keys (one draught of midnight will cover this)
480 almonds (23 is the maximum drop at max level ..so that means 21runs of under new ravagement)
240 apples (11 runs )
360 caramel (16 runs )
180 cinnamon (8 runs )
so wait now.. I need a total of 58 runs at level 33+...sure the quests are short and quick 5 min with a group.., but that's 58 keys and quests to craft 1 cloak..
so that's about 5 hours of in quest time(assuming 5 minutes to run each and get to next quest) and 6-7 hours slayer farming for keys.. so for about 12 hours invested time I could craft 1 cloak.
These old Mabar items are BTC so you have to craft on the toon that wants the item and will be stuck on that toon forever.. so some foresight in future use will ne necessary..
12 hours to craft and upgrade 1 btc cloak will likely kill my motivation to bother crafting any of the other old mabar items.. I guess the Turbine goal was achieved.. kill desirability with excessive grind requirement..

The old Mabar you had to wait for the door to open and then DC or not finish because of lag, also in the inception of the event there was KS and Tagging going on. I feel this event I way better in those aspects.
Everyone seems to want everything just handed to them with no effort! that is what the giveaways are for not the events!
