Only ever played Melee classes and Clerics where spell components were not involved. Due to certain circumstances and that fact that I have technically only playing for 4 months within that 5 years span does not expose me to too much. Especially since casting has not been anything I really cared about until now.

Yes and no. There are certain spell mats that only work for Cleric and Favored Soul, certain ones for Wiz, Sorc, and Warlock, certain ones for bard, others for druid, others for paladin, others for artificer, and also others for ranger.

This page has a list of the spell materials needed for various classes:

You only need the ones for the level of the spell you're casting that needs a spell material.

If you are in a guild that is at least level 8, you can buy the spell materials from a vendor in House Kundarak. The spell materials for Wiz, Sorc, Warlock, Bard, and Artificer are sold by the Arcane Reagent Vendor, while the FvS, Cleric, Druid, Ranger, and Paladin materials are sold by the Divine Reagent Vendor

    Yep. Tom put it best:

One last thing, there are a small handful of spells that have special, exotic ingredients. The only ones I can think of off-hand are Stoneskin, Trap the Soul, and Death Pact. If you happen to want to cast one of those three spells, look them up on wiki to see what materials you need and where to get them.

Once again. Forum join dates mean nothing.

    Nothing.

    Understand that?

Anyone who is assuming anything from a join date is either wrong or foolish.
