Cool Unofficial New Mabar (BETA) items (2015) list (probably isn't complete)

Total of 13 items so far. Nice appropriate number. :P

I like the thematic names! I like the general concept - just missing the old mabar items and some new fun.

The Int/Wis augments are a 'special' stacking spooky bonus +2 (not a +6) since they are ml:22. Have not seen other stats (yet).

    Default sweet cinnamon cloud

    and other 'potions'

    do they share a cooldown?
do they share a cooldown with other eternal flasks?

+6 Spooky Bonus to int/wis on a diamond? Does that really stack? Do these augments expire at the end of 2015, or are they permanent?

Do the Reveler's Regalia, Hood of Unrest, and Hat of the Night Hag reuse existing cosmetic appearances? If not, does anyone have pictures?

    No, and no.

The Augments grant a +2 bonus, not +6; some of the text from an older version made it to Lamannia (it's on the Lama Known Issues). They do not expire, no.

    They use new appearances.
We don't only build for the builds that exist.
We don't only build for the builds that are good right now.

The fact that some changes are necessary is not diminished by the fact that other necessary changes have not happened yet.

What are the effects on other potions? Are they permanent like the FOM, DW potions?

lol! These items all kind of sad. Wait. No, not "kind of sad". They are terribad awful. I mean, a clicky that produces a flame sphere? Really? Items that disappear at the end of the year? Why would anyone EVER waste their time getting those? The Hat of the Night Hag is probably the worst because they're actually expecting you to keep this thing on all the time. Hello? Devs? NOBODY is going to wear that hat over other choices, unless their only other choice are the quest end rewards from Stopping the Sahuagin. At least most of the rest of the junk is swap-in stuff. Literally THE. ONLY. WORTHWHILE. THINGS. are the augments. The only real positive I can see coming out of the loot staying this way is that I won't have to run this event 'til I puke because I should be able to get the augments I want pretty quickly.

The augments are pretty cool but there should be ones for all the stats not just two if I'm honest, everything else is beyond sub standard really. Loot that expires? Are you serious? At the very least bring back the old Mabar loot with some updates and tweaks and go from there since at least the old loot was pretty good really (handwraps were superb!).

I don't know, I could be missing something here. But so far it looks unimpressive.
I hope, at least, this festival is as interesting as Mabar was with that slayers part... Mabar was the best event, shame the dragon part didn't work anymore.

The event itself seems horrible. The only reason lots of people will run it (making the devs think it's a success despite what the forum feedback is) is 4 pieces of loot:
    - Almond-Coated Shadow Apple
Gives +5 melee power for half the time. Everyone wants more melee power.

    - Diamond of Spooky INT +2
Gives +2 stacking INT. Must have item for everyone especially with all the augment slots at high level items.

    - Diamond of Spooky WIS +2
Gives +2 stacking WIS. Again, must have item.

    - Sweet Cinnamon Cloud
Gives a bonus to Dodge equal to Listen score. So, basically caps your dodge half of the time. If it doesn't share a cooldown with the apple, both of those will be used.

And then people will keep running it because who doesn't want more augments? And if devs make the augments require a serious amount of ingredients, people will run it for its whole duration. However, make no mistake: The event sucks as it is.

Broom that "makes" Flaming Spheres? Sure I like summons, that's fine. New +2 Augments, cool not bad. Ham that grants 1d6 negative damage? Not a fan of it being a hat, would make an awesome trinket, like Pouch of Jerky.

So a few ok items, it will depend on how much it takes to make any of them.

Any chance of something to make something that summons shadow types?

Some good items, some not so much. The lasting potions that will disappear later is a bit odd. I guess it's to prevent people from grinding their eyes out to make a virtually permanent supply of them. Ensures that people will have a reason to get them again next year. Still, i'm not sure i wouldn't like it better if they were just reasonably expensive normal potions. I guess it does make the items dupe proof to some degree.

Items which have only a clicky and no other effects are obviously going to be swap to click and then swap back types of items. Having these kinds of clickys on docents/ robes seems awkward.

There are festivult cookies which have the fairy fire spell. I have tried using them. They suffer from the same problem all items of that type do, they have a dc that is so low that nothing ever fails the save, even at very low levels.

I admit, i probably haven't cast a flaming sphere spell in years. Maybe there is some usefulness to them that i haven't figured out yet.

Unless i'm reading it wrong, the item that creates 1-6 negative damage actually causes the enemy to produce this damage not yourself right? So it's sort of like a sideways version of boon of undeath, useful to help pale masters heal?

Well, flaming spheres do burn away webs. However, nobody ever uses them for this. Of course, now that I've said that, I will probably start scrolling it when facing mobs that use webs, especially spiders since even FoM can't save you from them.

Also, I would love to see the old items come back, in addition to whatever new items they come up with. It would be a shame if people can't get those items for newer characters (or a newly TR'd build) just because the old Mabar event was borked so badly.

Please visit the Flaming Sphere Scroll Fan Club! This item made my day:

of course I am greedy and would love to see it have 12 or 15 charges, but this is sufficient. It is such a niche weapon for stealth builds, glad to see the playstyle acknowledged.

I admit - I don't play Lamannia yet (not time) but I hope log in tomorrow... maybe...

    But:

Most of the new stuff are quite unimpressive. Definitely not so tasty like old mabar stuff.

But it's need so little to be great that I wonder why you guys don't think about it.

The solution is: CRAFTING and CANDY BOX.

    Crafting:

Add crafting option, open only during event: With proper, (rare) drop ingredient (s), you can transfer abilities like Night Horrors, Move like the Night, Flaming Sphere, Purple Faerie Fire, Shadow Weapons to other randomly generated stuff, without raise level requirement. Just like Frost Festival Weapon Upgrade.

Are these consider OP? No way - they are overall very weak abilities or very short duration abilities, to be even consider powerful. But like free (almost – cost only your time) add on to stuff you using, could be quite interesting.

    Candy Box:

A box, that you can collect in all kind of candies from festival. It use only one slot in inventory, and people just like collect stuff, even if it's no use for them. And have great fun doing so. Who don't want have full Candy Box rather than half empty? (of course you can use eat (use) your candies, from the box directly)

the extra crit damage clicky looks tasty, but it seems to greatly favor warforged/bladeforged, who can swap docents instantly. Fleshy characters with armor (this includes many caster classes) are punished... unless you make it a cosmetic armor. (Or move it to a different slot.)

My casters would like the additional DC and some of the these potions are good, looks like the content will be worth running.
