    Default custom builds for a static group

    Someone on ddochat asked for help with some builds for a mostly newbie group of 6 players that plan to quest together. Almost completely free, all 28 point buy, one player has access to monk. One player wants to be a healer, one wants to be a quarterstaff wielding trapper, the rest are up in the air. Will be posting builds here as I make them. Feel free to post ideas/suggestions/improvements if you have them.

    I don't know their forum names, or what server they'll be playing on. If you decide to play on orien, send qif or sefru a mail or tell, and I can help you out with some items/advice in game.

    Default Rogue starting stats...

    Rogues are a class that has a good use for every stat. I know that power attack is nice, but I don't think it is needed. The rogue won't be the primary melee, and since they are new players, his responsibility is getting them through the traps and hidden doors; that they don't know where they are. That means he will have to be able to spot them. I have a level 7 halfling rogue that I started with 7 Str and he does not miss it at all now. It was a little tough at 1st and 2nd till you get the Qstaff enhancements. I'd suggest 10 Str, 17 Dex, 14 Con, 14 Int, 12 Wis, 8 Cha. That will give him a better spot and search, disable. I'm also not a huge fan of UMD, and I'd put the skill points into balance instead. I've been tripped by dogs more then having to cast a spell at high level. On the feats, I'd replace the Str based ones with Precision, Weapon focus Bludgeon, and Power Crit.

    For the rogue I'd probably go Precision instead of Skill Focus: UMD, but I would definitely max UMD with your skill ranks. Fireshield scrolls are super useful, and of course teleport scrolls are a huge quality of life improvement. Plus being able to raise dead in a pinch is always good.
