Default a way to give raids more replay value

Once a player gets that uber item they have been looking for, every week they have to come back to the raid and recharge it.
Dip it in magical waters, let priests pray over it, shove it in a demons warm belly for an hour... whatever.
Just an idea to bring folks to raids regularly.
Sometimes I pull one out just to watch it die over and over. That's how much I hate hires.

That's a way to get people to quit the game.

    Why do you think that?

50+ raids per week just to keep the gear on all of my characters functional.

    Just no.

My first reaction is that it's punitive to anyone with multiple characters. People with alts are punished enough already just by basic game design. (Past lives & twists, mainly.)

    Hi.

    I'd prefer to see:

All raids offer renown, regardless of character level

    A raid saga

End reward lists offering named items which are BTCoE or BTA on 20th runs

Level appropriate unbound augments in end reward lists every run

    Thanks.

So if I take a break for month and come back I need to run all the raids again to get my stuff functioning.
But while doing the raids my character is terribly bad, because none of my items are functioning.

I'm pretty sure I would quit over that.

A better way to incentive raiding would be to bring back timed augments as raid-only loot, similar to old-style epic augments like Devil's Ruin.

A stupid idea that would kill raiding. People aren't going to keep coming back to raids for this, they'll quit doing them entirely. Pretty much the opposite of what you propose would happen.

This should not be met with punishment. Actually, quite the contrary, it should be met with reward.

How about placing an amenity at the end of every raid that gives a different special buff People can get (e.g. +10 MP FoT, +10 USP CITW a.s.o.a.s.o. ...) for absolving it? Maybe even depending on number of Players, the more, the higher the buff (12 People raid -> +12 MP vs. 1 People raid soloing just -> +1 MP). Lasting for 2 days and 18 hours each, your choice to have it or not.

People are and have been doing this already. They call it commendations and you have to keep going back to do the raid over and over in order to upgrade your gear.

Right. In order to acquire and upgrade gear and keep those benefits permanently. Each run is positive forward progress toward a viable end goal, not merely maintaining what you've already gotten.

Commendations are a carrot. Run the raid enough, your gear gets better.

Your suggestion is a stick. "We demand you run this raid, or we will strip your gear as punishment."

The two concepts are very very different.

Here's an idea to give raids more replay value.

    Make for example
-- the Greater Raid Tokens more attractive say for purchase of a timed augments of power

Something like 100 Hours Epic +2 Attributes maybe for 20 GRTs
    Or
    Consumables

again something limited but powerful and broad enough options that people would want to pursue it. Separating the Raids between worlds and giving them different consumables making it worth running the different raids.. This might mean adding another collectable for the Eveningstar, but again I think something that can be limited and renewable and broad enough to appeal to raiders is the better way to go then a Recharge your Raid Loot.
