Default Change Orchard Sigil pieces drop behavior

So, I've been trying to put together a Sigil: Frame in order to flag for Litany of the Dead. The drop behavior of the sigil pieces is bloody awful.

Yeah that's right, nine right wings and not a single left pincer. I have earned almost an entire level's worth of xp (third life at that) trying to farm and not a single left pincer to be found. The sigil pieces are bound to character, so not only can they not be auctioned or traded, I can't even swap them amongst toons on my account. Surely the goal of filling out a sigil to flag for the next two quests isn't to make me hate these quests right? Because I'm starting to.

I wouldn't complain about this. My partner and I run these quests every life, and despite having a mostly-complete sigil at the beginning of every life, I'm always stuck farming for the same 1 every time.

We usually have enough guildies around interested in at least running the necro chain, that we can get a group and pass to each other whichever pieces people need to make a set. It would be a rough thing to collect them solo.

Default Mine are lopsided as well.

I'm always short the right sigal. I did get it form Inferno last life finally, but after 2 years the ship has sorta sailed for me regarding the Abbot. Last life I made it as far as teh dragon in the first part for the very first time after getting my first right sigal. I got annoyed with the questions and teh dragons breath killed me. Promptly TR'ed afterwards (was in the plan anyway but thought I would try it).

Based on my toons and play style the raid only has one item that I'm interested in, which is the quiver of Ranged Alacrity. And not for the alacrity either (have from other sources), but for the striding for more boot options.

I know we all have different tastes, but the only parts I like or enjoy are the Orcahard of the Macabre and Fleshmaker. Ghost of Perdition is OK, but I like fighting eye tyrants. Really only like the end fight in that quest.

    Mo Sharn!

EDIT ~ Just logged on my main Livmo and this life was probably the worst luck. I have another frame in the TR cache with multiples of all of them from past lives except for the right sigal. If I had about 7 or 8 right sigals I could complete about that many frames. Inferno why you so stingy with me?

Sigil pieces are why I've only run Litany on one life out of 17 total lives run. After running those 17 lives and entering Litany once, on my account right now I do not have a single completed sigil.

At this point, I see no reason to ever set foot in litany again unless I decided to max favor.

agree with everything said. I never do litany because it's not worth the hassle and I never have a full sigil. We need a GH style revamp.

I have no idea why on the epic necro update they didn't removed this flagging mechanic altogether. I mean, the relic for tor flagging were a scale of magnitude lower in annoyance (form the fact that the relics are a guaranteed drop, and unbound), and they removed it when eGH came around. Why keep the sigil?

Lore-wise, the Abbot underlings have the sigil pieces. You can easily explain it by just requiring us to defeat them, finishing the four orchard quests. This mechanic, coupled with the "must run litanny four times to flag" (also one step of magnitude higher than old Tor "requiring blooding", because you could run all three dragons in a single instance) is the main reason why people don't care about abbot flagging.

I want DDO to be a better game. Those are my personal suggestions on: Ammunition, Archmage, Combat Stances, Deities, Dispel Magic, Epic Destiny Map, Fast Healing, Favor, Favored Enemy, Half-elf Enhancements, Monk Kensai, Monk Stances, Past Life, Potency, Potions, Ranger Spells, Summons, Tiered Loot.

sigh. been complaining about this for years. they absolutely should of changed it when they redid Orchard for epic.

this is the last random luck flagging in the game. it needs to go.

What they did to "fix" sigil farming was allow sigils et. al. to drop from chests (rares) in the orchard. It did not help soloers at all, but I'm not sure that was their focus back then.

The best efficient way is still getting a group together and helping each other get each other's missing sigil(s). I do wish they had gotten rid of this mechanic, but oh well.

I tend to live in solo areas myself, I just love the "every kill counts" mechanic of it, as well as the fact that if I just decide to log, have IRL issues, or whatever nobody else is put out. So I actually could run litany of the dead like 10 times in a row and never set foot in the orchard. Of course this is because it has been years since I bothered to flag for abbot because of the "run litany 4 times" mechanic.
