Default Seriously??? Wave at the Mirror???

I entered one the new quests and, while I didn't get too far into it, what I've seen so far really is awful! First of all the character becomes a slave of the Lord of Stone or (I assume) Lord of Eyes - It is a tremendous turn off for me to call a pseudo-god "Master." Then, if that's not bad enough, he sends me to look for a mirror and a couple of other trinkets. I assume there is a reason for this within the story line, but at this point it just seems stupid. Next, I walk into a room and my reflection waves at me and I'm expected to wave back. Its like a tutorial in using emotes - In a lvl 18 quest!!! that would be nifty in Korthos, but not in a lvl 18 quest. - feels like im a character in a children's book. that's all I could take at the moment - the Dojo finally opened up and I switched characters to test the Barbarian.

    I was extremely disappointed!!!

I will try it again and run the quest, however painful it might be, to the end. But at this point, I have very low expectations.

Yep, exactly. I'm not one that cares much about storyline, but I always liked the Xoriat quests because they had a great storyline AND challenge. If these new ones go along the same lines, I will love them.

    I am curious . . .

Does it sound very awesome to be a slave to the Lord of Stone or does it sound awesome to wave at your reflection in the mirror.

And perhaps its the "VERRRY Xoriat" thing that makes me dislike it. I'm not really a fan of any of the Xoriat stuff in general and I wasn't real excited for it to be the subject for the new quests.

I will give it a try again this weekend as well the fashion show one. Hopefully, if nothing else, the loot will make them worth it.

It is so hard to play these quests sometimes. Why now we have to do more than sit there and hold down the attack button. Horrors!

Okay kidding aside, I think I hate being forced to listen to Elminster every life more than hitting a few keystrokes on my keyboard. If we're lucky they'll give us emote commands for our hotbars. If we're especially lucky they will link up to the correct emotes.

The quest is different and I enjoyed it. It is verrry Xorriat as was previously mentioned. I would imagine you'll hate the other parts of the quest even more if using a few emotes that are are much in line with the storyline bothered you. Part of it is very puzzle centric.

Not really sure why a dislike for being a slave of the pseudo god and standing in front a mirror being force to wave at oneself in order to advance the quest means that I must only want quests that require holding down the attack key. I like variety in my questing - just not this kind of variety. And if this is a required set of actions every time you run the quest, I doubt it will get any more enjoyable - but I guess i'm about to find out. The live servers are down so I think im gonna head on in and see how this goes to the end.

This is a really fun quest...

I guess if you made to the end, you'll find that really stupid, but I enjoyed it. A lot.

Yeah, this is what I probably need to do. But currently I cant even make it to the beginning

I cant seem to get much done on Lam right now. splash screens never seem to go away.

I may have to wait a bit before I can play the quest all the way through

There's a huge difference between the funny / horrific feel that Xoriat quests can have and "wave to yourself in the mirror for Mommy".

I found the whole quest amusing,
I enjoyed the funny of the mirror.
I even enjoyed the puzzles, they took a bit to understand what was needed & how to make it work, but after the first one it was easy to figure out.
And oh yea the balloon ... oh that was funny .... esp after the puzzles.

Mostly the whole quest made me giggle with amusement, so I did enjoy it.

Does anyone have descriptive information about any of the other new Xoriat quests or Dragon Mask quest?
