    Default First Cleric Build Critique

    First Cleric build, started the game as a paladin back in September, and now finally reincarnating! Primarily planning on playing with 2 other friends: a trapper quarterstaff rogue/monk, and a TWF fighter/monk/ranger. Primary focus of the build is nuking (light) followed by secondary nuking (fire), with tertiary healing. Minimal RP other than wanting to be a light based cleric instead of dark based (unsure if dark based is better.) Thanks.

    Just a thought, but why not keep your pally at 20 since you only have one toon, and create a new toon to play with your friends? I know if I only had 1 character I'd keep him in epics where all the new stuff is happening. It's a long road back up to level 20.

    Also your new toon will be on the same XP curve as your friends (if they're create new toons). 5% heal amp past life doesn't mean much - especially on a caster cleric with no aura who will be overhealing himself.

    But on to the critique. Did a quick glance but I noticed 1 thing - Toughness isn't necessary. ~30 HP at cap isn't worth a feat especially on a feat starved class. May want to consider empower for better SLAs. Perhaps empower heal if you want to do some healing on this toon.

    Didn't go over the enhancements you took but otherwise didn't notice any obvious problems. Get your WIS as high as you can, spam SLAs, get a good CON score you should be fine. But I'm not the most experienced with caster clerics so take that with a grain of salt.

    You can't take Past Life: Paladin at level 1. Past life feats can't be taken until 3. Even still, you don't want to spend a feat on that, especially as a cleric since clerics get the actual Divine Favor spell.

    On level 1 I highly recommend you take both Maximize and Empower, which you can immediately start using on your light SLAs for maximum power.

    For the first 10 levels, I recommend you follow the Necro Cleric build linked in my signature. During those first 10 levels it is full-on light specced, including both enhancements and feats. Notable milestones:

    At level 1 you get Nimbus of Light SLA
    At level 3 you get Searing Light SLA
    At level 6 you get Holy Smite SLA

    I believe that's the passive PL feat, not the one you can take (Soldier of the Faith).

    Otherwise, I agree with Ellis: you should just do what he says.
