    Default Turn cast-off MABAR into a quest/raid/wilderness

Turbine has cancelled Mabar due to unsolvable problems which means we will no longer be able to enjoy this event.

Would it be possible to turn Delera's Graveyard into a wilderness area with randomly spawning undead using the old code? This way we can enjoy the memories and taste of Mabar.

Would it be possible to turn the Spectral Dragon Chamber into a raid or quest? This is one of the few dragons we get to fight and I would hate to see it go away.

Is there some combination of the two that could be turned into a quest or raid?

I have enjoyed this event and have many fond memories of it. Would hate to see it disappear entirely. Also seems a waste to let all that developer effort go to waste if we could get something out of it.

    Default I Agree

I Agree that we should do something with the old mabar event. There are some (albeit few) people who actually built for mabar.

Few dragons? Last I checked there were:

    1 in Vault of Night
    2 in Mired in Kobolds
1 or 6 (depending on whether you count each challenge as a different dragon) in Cannith Challenges
    1 in Eveningstar Challenges
    3 in Gianthold Tor
    3 in Epic Gianthold Tor
4 in Fall of Truth (7 if you count the spectral dragons)
    3-4 in the Gianthold Wilderness
    1 in King's Forest wilderness
    1 in the Underdark
1 in Don't Drink the Water
2 in the Storm Horns wilderness
2 in Fire on Thunder Peak
1 in Haunted Halls of Eveningstar
1 in Temple of the Deathwyrm

And there are two more that you don't actually get to fight (Litany of the Dead and Breaking the Ranks)

There are a fair number of dragons in the game nowadays. I won't miss one.

It's sad that Mabar is busted, though.

If you're a meany, you can also attack a dragon after Prey On The Hunter.

    Nice list, PsychoBlonde.

In addition to Prey on the Hunter, I can think of two more, both of which go on the "can't fight" list: Misery's Peak and Stopping the Sahuagin. At least, I'm pretty sure there's a visible dragon beyond the gate in "Stopping", but it's been years since I ran that quest without zerging so I can't say for sure.

There is no dragon in Stopping the Sahuagin. its a gargantuan sea troll!

the challenges specifically feature a spectral dragon. It would be easy to farm for scales though so I am not sure anything could be done with it.

I was hoping for the level 24 wraps...
Maybe have all the epic stuff drop somewhere in epic orchard?

I thought it varied--I have seen the troll but I seem to recall seeing other giants there. Well, not Big Man Japan

What about a saga in which some of the old stuff could drop? The saga could have a series of undead quests. On another thread I suggested this along with other ideas

I always thought it was a Tarrasque...sleeping under the earth, as Tarrasques do until a DM needs to railroad a party somewhere - or just punish them for going off the rails and RUINING THE CAMPAIGN!!!

We need to get a new Halloween event if Mabar is trashed, hopefully that darkened Haunted House that was discussed earlier on this Suggestions forum.

That's actually a pretty good idea.

They should definitely do the fairly-small work of making a copy of the Delera's Graveyard that's a wilderness explorer (with NPCs and dungeon doors removed), and making Spectral Dragon into a 6 or 12 player instance (with altar rooms reduced from 4 to 2 and lever rooms reduced from 4 to 1; first your team has to fight through the whole complex to find the right rooms).

Once that's done, they have the choice of making it a permanent dungeon area (like marketplace Devil Assault), or having it be something that only turns on for special holiday events. The things that make the existing Mabar event rough on the servers (20-30+ players in one instance) actually don't contribute any entertainment value to the proceedings.
