    Default First Life Monkcher

    Hello,

    Can anyone help me get a build for a monkcher? (Human 28pt)

    Level order, Skills to get, Enhancement Taken, Stats, everything please.

    Without the extra build points from TRs or even 32 point builds, a build with these specs is less of a monkcher and more of a kid dressing up as a monkcher for Halloween.

    Problem #1: You won't easily be able to reach Overwhelming Crit(23 Str), Combat Archery(21 Dex), AND a good 10k Stars(All the Wis you can get).
    Of the three, Overwhelming Crit will probably not boost your DPS as much as Combat archery, and 10k Stars. This build may want to drop OC entirely, to ease the stat burden. Alternatively, build for OC but drop CA.

    Problem #2: Bows can get either Str to damage or Dex to damage. Further reinforcing the dilemma of needing to drop either OC or CA.
    Bow strength you'll get from ranger levels. Grace comes from the Elf enhancement tree. If you're insistent on going human, you only have your Str modifier going into damage.

    Problem #3: You'll still want stat tomes to ease the burden of distributing your level up stats.
    Every point in Str helps meet your OC requirement. Everything else is great as well. Let's pretend you're building with a full set of +2s in mind.

    With that in mind, here's a rough approximation of the build that you might wind up going.

    Again, I should reiterate that due to restrictions this is not even close to optimal, I wouldn't go near this build with a ten foot pole, and feel free to consider the 28 point Elven counterpart, which is also notoriously bad, but does give you some interesting alternatives (dex-to-damage, Combat Archery, higher overall wisdom).

    In a nutshell, monkcher isn't a 28pt build. I'm not even sure it's a 32pt build.

    This build presumes you can acquire a few +3 tomes from the card event. If not, then it needs serious revising to meet stat pre-reqs. I know the OP asked for human, but this is one of those instances where elf or halfling would make more sense, IMHO; I went with elf (Grace + Shadow DM). Converting to other races is left as an exercise for the reader.

    For some reason the builder kept crashing when I tried to take the racial AA tree, so here it's built with rgr AA instead. It saves you 6 APs and the only useful enh you miss out on is Aligned Arrows, since Doubleshot bonuses actually aren't that useful to a monkcher due to the penalties from MS & 10K Stars.

    EDIT: I built around unarmed melee; if you wish to use, e.g., short swords instead, skip Stunning Fist & IC:Blunt.
