    Default Possible Challenge Farmer concept build, feats need fixing though help plox :)

    A possible 32 pt BF 8 Fighter / 6 Monk / 2 Pally Challenge Farmer concept build TWF centered using both Khopesh & B. Sword's.

    The Challenge Khopesh's & the B. Sword's from the Spinner chain. Any other good easy to get Khopesh or B. Sword's please list them off! (Greensteel a LONG term goal or Alchem).

    Recon SLA with FoL for healing. Shadow Fade sexiness as well. I think I got the starting stats right & the ranks into the skills.

    I screwed up the feats though & the progression need to pick up the proper feats for 1 with the Blade & the adept? monk stance feat. Also need 3 more AP in Kensai tree.

    This will hold down center or help clear out while my buddy does the torching or for extractor challenges should be able to take the most busy one.

    No I don't have +4 or +5 tomes in abundance . I am asking for help in fixing the feats & the class progression so it will all fit in & have synergy!

    TLDR: Basically I am requesting some help/assistance in changing the class progression/feat selection which I hope enables me to pick up:

    Master of Forms, & the required Weapon Focus Feats/Weapon Specialization Feats etc for the Kensai tree.

    So It enables me to take the One With The Blade Enhancement, I just can't seem to be able to figure it out!

    Not trying to flame you, but is there a reason you want a challenge farmer as a melee?

    Having ddoor, haste, resists, knock etc makes some of the challenges so much more quicker and easier.

    Ive got a bladeforged 2pally, 12sorc, 1wiz challenge farmer and it works brilliantly.

    If you really want a melee though, I cant help but think youd be better off going :

    2 handed using the elemental great axe of fire, mournlode maul.
    Staying level 15 giving up divine grace. (I dont like getting a penalty in the level 15 challenges)

    The only save that really will matter is reflex, fortunately youll be of a high enough level to wear either a beholder plate or flesh shapers docent slotted with +10 reflex.

    I created and rolled up a 2 pally/14 Sorc Bladeforged that all I had to do was buy a few things from the AH. Equip with Rock Boots (Acid Savant) and Ring of the Master Artifice. And then build rock and rolls with almost no investment. I get DD, Haste, blur, displace, recon, web, acid rain, etc. good AOE, few dots. Only quest I have to manage SP seriously is Dragon Hoarde.

    Ok I did roll up 4/6 months ago a PDK Iconic 32 pt 12 bard 2 rogue 1 fighter challenge farmer/runner bank toon, however am not happy with it.

    Should keep the same split or different? I am open 2 suggestions & very flexible.

    Nothing spent on it so I can just delete/recreate it put all the non bound gear in the shared bank.

    EDIT TO ADD: Also would prefer to not have to use tomes(being lazy! ^_^). Will most likely use this build/toon to replace 1 of my older bank toons.

    starting stats:

    STR: 16
    DEX: 14
    CON: 14
    INT: 12
    WIS: 8
    CHA: 14

    Skills: 18 ranks into balance, 18 into concentration, 9 into Heal, 2 into Jump, 18 into OL, 18 into Perform, 2 into tumble, 18 into UMD.

    Feats in no order:
    Cleave(must have)
    Dodge(indifferent)
    Empower Healing(prefer/like to have)

    Not enough skills points to put ranks into Heal, or not sure what else to sacrifice?

    Should I switch Magical Training feat out for something else or?

    The enhancements I am totally flexible on as well, advice/input/feedback on those especially would be awesome!

    Gear wise I would swap the armor out for Parasitic from the madness chain with the +10 reflex on it.

    Drawing a blank for a Greatsword to use.

    Well my main question would be able the 2 rogue.
    Are you doing it for skill points or for the trapping skills.

    The challenges really don't require any trapping skills. They might be nice if you have them in the mansion but no need for them.

    If you want trapping skills the only thing you really need its to pick locks for the two doors in the backdoor in the mansion. The one hall with the traps on the way to the girlfriend as long as you have evasion they are pretty easy to avoid.

    For a challenge farmer, 2 monk would likely work out better as you get yourself 2 more feats and you still get evasion. Which I think would get you more mileage in the challenges. If you go 11B/1F/3M you'll get 5% faster movement which is nice to have in the challenges.

    I would take Improved Trip over Improved Sunder. Though for challenges I likely wouldn't take either. I would begin taking the THF or TWF line depending on your style.

    Not sure why you would want to take magical training, other than to have the Echoes of Power. But at maxing out at 12 SP does really offer you anything of benefit. If you are looking for something with more spell points you would get more mileage out of Mental Toughness.

    For a THer at this stage, I'd go with the Elemental Great Axe of Fire from the House C challenges themselves.

    Personally, I would just skip out on evasion. I've never found it necessary in the challenges.

    I prefer a PDK bard 13 (or 14), fighter 1, cleric 1.

    1 level of cleric gives you access to:
    Free Magical Training (let's you use the Spellsinger enhancement for more songs and the feat for Mental Toughness)
    Cheaper Wand/Scroll Mastery (doesn't require wand heightening and it also helps your Positive spellpower, since it's in the Radiant Servant Tree)
    Divine Might! (allows you to go high CHA for perform / dancey ball DCs without necessarily being forced to use greatswords)

    I really hate the new Warchanter tree, and don't think it offers much. The "Gathering Cold" stuff is too expensive and hard to use, and the AP investment to get Song of Recklessness isn't worth it for a soloer (6% doublestrike is a lot more appealing when it's affecting 12 members of a raid party).

    So enhancements-wise, I would take the low-hanging fruit in Cleric and Kensai, go for second-tier Human Improved Recovery in the PDK tree (also taking the CHA to damage/attack enhancement for when you are using a greatsword), invest in the nicer low-level Warchanter Stuff (definitely get Sprint Boost), and spend the rest of the points in Spellsinger. If nothing else, every point in Spellsinger improves Universal Spellpower, but I also think a lot of the song-based buffs / CC will be more sustainable in longer no-shrine Challenges. And Music of the Makers should be nice for the enchanted armors in the Extra Planar Palace challenges.

    Going high CHA and Spellsinger gives quite useful Enchantment DCs, so that's worth pursuing with the spell selection. Unfortunately, a lot of the Challenge enemies aren't really CC-able, but enough of them are that I think it's still useful.

    Gear-wise, I think you could get by pretty easily with nothing but the PDK starter stuff and Challenge gear. Ideally, you'd have a Cloudburst or a Whirlwind (with Devotion in the Red slot), and something crafted to boost UMD, but it's probably not worth farming up. And obviously you need to buy the usual selection of scrolls (Invisibility, Greater Heroism, Shadow Walk, Teleport, Fire Shield, Heal, etc.).

    So something like this is what I'd be looking at for a Bard challenge farmer:

    I think it would be pretty capable. Although, of course, a Bladeforged fire/acid savant with 14 sorcerer levels for DBF, wearing Challenge gear (the L15 Boots of Rock, Cloak of Flames, Blasting Chime, and Ring of Master Artifice), will blow this thing out of the water. If you take it to L16 for a second Paladin level, you even get awesome saves. That's just the reality of the game -- nothing beats a warforged sorcerer for soloing in the mid heroic levels (or, arguably, anywhere else).

    ok... sorry it's taken me so long to drag my sorry backside in here, but here's my thoughts...

    1. i love evasion. i hate not having it. BUT.... not having a semi-decent dex kinda puts a little bit of a damper on having an effective reflex score.

    2. if this is going to be used ONLY for challenge farming.. you technically don't even need trapping at all. i ran challenges into the ground on Katz's cleric life (17 cleric/2 monk/1 wizard)... and opened the locked doors with a 10th level knock wand. you could conceivably completely drop rogue, whip a wand off UMD, and still be able to run challenges. that said, the trapped hall in Rushmore's is a pain... even with evasion.

    3. i've never run a tactics build, so unsure how well stunning blow would/would not work for you. but i do know that i love trip at about that level... even without taking any feats to enhance it, i can manage to trip a surprising amount of mobs... and its fun to watch them fall down. it looses it's effectiveness moving into the epic levels for me, but around 15 it still works decently

    Cardtrick's build looks pretty good and they have good reasons for their recommendations.
