The Fall of Truth raid and general chat turned off, that they did not think about!

I have always had and still have general chat turned off in party chat and I have always had general chat shrunk down into it's own separate window. The thing is I have that window (general chat) shrunk down to as tiny as I can make it. I use it rarely. I don't want to see or read the babble in general chat when I play this game, so I shrunk it down so I cannot see it. I like it that way.

Now for my rant!

It seems that General Chat is a necessary mechanic to have in the Fall of Truth Raid, because of the 3, 2, 1, BOOM!

I was blowing people up and didn't even know it!

Now I know and I am sorry, but I am also upset that the Game made it a mechanic for this Raid and did not warn me!

Now I know to turn it on in party chat just for this Raid, but after that it is off again.

I will set the party tab for general chat incoming text, just for this raid, after that I do not want to read to general chat, It is something I choose. I learned that today!

I will not delete a mechanic I found useful once in a blue moon and put to the side. I like my general chat to be used the way I want it. I do not want to see it, but I can use it if I need to and I hate to see it as incoming in my Party chat. I do not want to read the babble! TO NOT have it is nice. The thing is that this game makes it so general chat is always in our face. I chose to not have it in my face! All was well until Today!

This Raid made it a necessary mechanic! I know now and I learned it the hard way. This is why I made this thread!

I will admit I have not run this in ages but...

The last time I did run it the 3..2....1..Boom appeared as DM text in big letters across my screen along with a graphical representation on my character. Did this change?

Nothing on my screen and no graphic that I knew about or saw.

I have been busy TRing at level 20 over the past 2 years to even know how to run this raid up until now. It is new to me and it seems like this raid has a lot to be learned about. This is good. I feel like a newb again! Nice feeling. The game must do this to us or it loses it's toughness.

ever think of just adding dm text standard etc without adding general or advice etc to your party?

DM (Mandatory) text Must be in party chat as a game mechanic or you might fail! I put that in as a search for future folks whom may run into the same problem I just did.

Alternatively, have Party chat appear in your General window...

It's (Standard), not (General), that shows that information, right? I have (Standard) set for all my chat windows.

It is still shown that way. White lettern in the center of the screen, not very big though. If you don't pay attention it's easy to miss.

I also enabled Standard messages in my party tab, as it often has important info.
