Most of my builds (linked in signature) are multi-classed, but they're new player friendly and laid out completely to make them easy to follow. Maybe something will strike your fancy.

The fighter one is the Kensei Warpriest. It's a 12/8 build that takes a bunch of cleric levels for self-healing and buffs. (Deathward, Freedom of Movement, Protection from Evil, and NIghtshield.)

Have a look at the Cetus/ Sithali/ Pyrene builds for ideas on what cuts it these days. I also returned a couple months ago from a break that started in 2011 and would say the key change in melee effectiveness comes in the form of survivability as opposed to tod ring/e marilith chain/esos balls-to-the-wall dps days of yore.

The Cetus build in that form requires access to +5 tomes to gain manyshot and zen archery, however you could make a perfectly viable 12 6 2 ftr monk pali without the ranged option and enjoy all the effectiveness of a centered dps monster, wielding any weapon in the game, with str in the 80s to 90s. The inclusion of ranged capabilities on a melee shows how far the game has come, and is something i look forward to most when i finish my TR (from an old Blitz split,) as the option to drop back and unload an insane fury shot into mobs is too good to pass up.

My discussion here is tailored for EE content, it's what I build for, and although you won't be jumping into that straight away, in my opinion theres no point in building a character for epic hard: for that run your mule in legendary dreadnought and clean up.

The builds I mentioned are detailed below.

    You forgot Juggernaut.

For a fairly straight forward fighter type build though, Cetus or some variant there of is tough to beat.

Thanks for answering, any builds NOT requiring a +5 tome to work?

Hoooooo nice one... never taught an artificer will do so well in melee, and the need for high end tomes is pretty limited.
I have an H-orc, fighter (kensai), level 20... willing to TR him (again, past life: pally) into this...

But before i do, any other viable fighter's build?

Pretty much any build can be downgraded to suit whatever combo of build options you have available. I'm inferring you plan to TR your current fighter, rather than LR (+20) into something new; what tomes etc. do you have already?

The current Flavor of the Month among melee builds are weapon-wielding monk / Kensei, often in Master / GM Earth stance for +1 crits. This is due to two major changes in U19: (A) the Kensei ability One with Blade enables you to be centered with any weapon in your Kensei Focus group (req's Gtr Weap Focus feat, which means at least ftr 8); and (B) higher-tier monk stances are now chooseable feats on MCed monk builds (they are also auto-granted @ monk lvls 6/12/18). Monk 6 / ftr 8 is a good baseline: monk 6 gets you 3 bonus feats, Adept of Forms (Master & GM of Forms can be taken as regular feats), and Shadow Veil (Ninja); while like I said, ftr 8 is the minimum req'd to pick up GWF & One w/Blade. Then it's just a question of what to do with your remaining 6 lvls: e.g., monk 6 / ftr 12 / cleric or FvS 2 lets you pick up 2 more feats (ftr 12 feat is most likely Gtr Weap Spec), Power Surge, Divine Might, and +10 PRR (Warpriest); monk 6 / ftr 8 / rgr 6 gets you a bunch of TWF & ranged feats.

My fighter is a TR (past life pally) level 20 kensai (or use to be) i got a couple of epics, including the ESoS, claw bracers, and 2-3 GS items. Tomes wise he have a full+2 set and a +3 in STR.
So if i read you correctly, i should LR with my +20 and keep all that, then use some thing to change alignment... right? Or i should go all in and TR, to restart level 1 and change : race (to human) and all the rest...

I saw a couple builds, all flavor of the month like, heavy multi class, leaning toward melee and range with multi shot, splashing for saves and whatnot... But frankly, i would love to keep it a bit simpler, lol! Also, why is every build (almost) has multi shot? Seems to me you sacrifice a lot... Of all the suggestions so far the F/C 12/8 is the simplest and most melee of the bunch...

8 levels of fighter, 6 monk, 6 ranger, centered with esos, get a bow as you will be able to do ranged as well. I'm enjoying it immensely.

Edit: btw this is a twf version...so it can probably be adjusted for THF.

Manyshot is sought after because of the combination with adrenaline from fury of the wild ED. This combination is referred to as "furyshot", and allows volleys of 4 arrows at a time all at x5 damage and 2-20 threat range (so really x15 damage). In epic moment you get about 7 such volleys, + you can use adrenaline charges to add more. It's considered to be the top "burst DPS" combination in the game currently, and so it's a very nice addition (if you can fit it) to any DPS build and usually more than compensates for what you lose. But... it's far from required, you can certainly focus more on melee DPS and ignore ranged, but the likely result is your overall DPS (particularly in boss fights and big fights) will drop a bit.

6 Monk for shadow veil is also FOTM because it adds survivability via shadow veil. But again, this is not required. You could build a 12ftr/6pal/2monk ignoring manyshot and shadow veil and instead get better healing (unyielding sovereignty and better LoH), save a twist (no need to twist to get turns for divine might), and maybe slightly better melee and have a very solid build. The other things monk provide, even from just 2 levels are: ability to get into stances (earth in grandmaster gives +1 multi on 19-20), ability to twist dance of flowers for +1.5[W], evasion, 2 (or more) feats not including the forms, monk finishers, some special attacks, etc.... so it's a highly valuable splash. Don't feel constrained to follow these builds exactly, just use them for ideas on what you can squeeze into a character for abilities. The way the game has evolved having great saves, some decent delf healing, and excellent damage is a good place to be, how you get there is up to you.

ESoS works great with most of these builds. I didn't point you toward Ginsu or Old Saint Pick, or other good builds because I figured you'd want one that works with ESoS. ESoS is still probably the highest DPS weapon in the game, but some people prefer Clever now for it's other effects (and comparable DPS), and there is more competition in multiple weapon types (like Balizarde, Nightmare...TWF is viable again). If you TR or do a raid before update 20 comes out you'll get to select a very nice weapon for future use, which is a nice way to catch up on some equipment =)

Well, I'm no TRer, so I'll let others chime in. But be forewarned Turbine is planning on restructuring TRing; check the Lama forum for the "lama"-ntations of the vets.

From the sound of it you have the gear to run EEs. The build I linked (12/8 fighter/cleric) is NOT an EE build, so if you plan to run EEs I wouldn't recommend it.

The design goal of my build is more like for new players to get a life or two under their belt and then choose a final build like blackdoguk suggests. (Cetus / Pyrene / Juggernaut / etc...) The name of the game for endgame EEs is great saves and burst dps with manyshot, neither of which the 12/8 will really have.

I would not run EE yet, i want to TR, to get back in game slowly... and relearn the new DDO.
For leveling, seems nice, and all that matters now
    Thanks for warning me dho...

    p.s: is manyshot mandatory now?

Only for endgame, and not quite mandatory but somewhat close. Think of it as just below power attack and improved critical in terms of melee priority. Again, just speaking about endgame, as in level 24+ on EE.

Keep in mind that I don't run EEs so take what I say with a grain of salt. This is my impression from reading the forums.
