    I'm getting pretty stoked about this export routine. So far I can export overview info (name, alignment, race, etc...), the class splits, starting ability points, levelups, tomes, and skills. All I have left is feats and past lives, plus (of course) the entire import routine to go from yours to mine.

    I've decided to skip enhancements entirely. Mapping enhancements would be way more effort than mapping feats was, and mapping feats was a non-trivial task. And besides, your enhancements interface is superior to mine anyway.

    Fun fact: If you don't include a version number at all, the skills don't load properly. It's almost certainly because of Spellcraft. No worries, though; I can just set the version to 4.36.104 and it's all good.

    EDIT: Those last 10 class level entries for epic levels is kind of weird. I'm just sending the primary class for those, but when I make builds in your planner from scratch they appear to be almost random. They're always all the same as each other, but guessing which of your build classes get used is a coin flip.

    Sorry about the comment about the screen shot and proof that was a jib at ElisDee and his issue with Wiki that got fixed. Now for your error report. I currently do not have a windows 10 machine that I have been able to test these builds on so I personally do not know if there are any setting that would help fix this error. But if it is like Windows 8.1 try running in compatibility mode. I do not know why you would be running out of memory on a fresh opened program. I have run the program for many hours before with a memory monitor on it and have not notice any large increase in memory usage.

    With this info I would say that yes the 2 new Favored Soul Feat will go into 10 FEATFAVOREDSOULBONUS, and I will be creating a new 22 FEATCLERICDOMAIN.

If you wish to check them out you can download the exe directly from the Github along with the data file folders to check it out. I think I have a couple of feats that still need to be fixed up a little looks like someone took the easy way out when the entered the information in a long time ago and did not allow for the some feats to be taken multiple times or just gave the effect that they where taken multiple times. Epic Skills was one of them. It now shows that you have taken it 10 times at lvl 30 enless you have taken it at lvl 21 or 24. By the way can this feat be taken with the slot choice at lvl 30?

    I grabbed the new feats file by opening up the new FeatsFile.txt in "raw" view and manually copy & pasting the contents into my FeatsFile.txt, but I couldn't find the new exe. No worries, though; I finished my export routine and it works a treat. Now to start the Import routine.

    I can't definitely say. My guess is you can take it at 21, 24, 27 and 30. Wiki just says 21 and 24, but that was when the cap was still 25 I think. I'd just leave it for now (nobody takes it anyway) and we can check it out next time lamannia comes up in a couple months. I can't even say 100% positively you're allowed to take it at all just based on the fact that I thought you could take Child Of feats in the deity ability slot at 6.

    Speaking of repeating feats, it probably doesn't matter, but you can currently take Natural Fighting more than three times. The description in the planner properly says you can only take it three times, but that rule isn't enforced.

    I can't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to take it at 27 and 30; they're regular feat slots. You get MORE choices as you level up, not FEWER.

    EDIT: So I just took my L30 to Fred to see what he thinks... he didn't offer Epic Skills as a possible trade for 21, 24, 27, or 30. Unfortunately, I don't really have anybody particularly close to a feat, but when I use my FvS's lesser heart tomorrow I'll doublecheck if Epic Skills can be taken at 21 & 24.

    Just an FYI: Great Cleave is bugged in the copy & paste I made of the featsfile.

    The previous ability's final line wasn't terminated by a semicolon, but adding it doesn't seem to help. Reverting back to the official version fixes it.

    And with that, I've finished the Import routine. Woot! Tomorrow begins a whole 'nother round, importing and exporting Ordinary's DDO Builder files.

    Some times I really hate the data entry on this. That is why one of my goals is to make an ui that reads the feat, enhancement, destinies files and allows them to be edited and the spit back out in a sorted file. To dream some day. I did find the issue it was with Follower of Aureon. The feat did not have all of the required fields needed to be a complete feat. I have fixed it and will post it later today after I do some additional work on the feats file.

    The Exe is in the main folder after you click on it you should have an option to download it.

    That's why pretty much the first thing we did for v5 of the planner was to create an sql database, and then we programmed an input interface to allow users to input data. We used that interface (after I had finished programming it) to input all the data that are currently in text form in v4. It was exactly the same interface that was user facing, we didn't have anything "developer" exclusive, so the users could directly modify or add data to the database from within the program itself. What I really liked about it was there was no possibility for error, in terms of missing semicolons or fields or typos in the field names, that sort of thing that always was a thorn in my side (and everyone that ever worked with the planner, I'm sure). Of course, you could still input bad data, there's nothing I can do about that, but it took care of half the problems.

    It was really a shame v5 was never finished. It had some good features, and we had some pretty exciting plans for more. Ah well.

    Nice job, Ellis, on the import/export on the save files for the three planners. That's neat stuff!

    Just to toss it out there, text files can be verified. For example, if you take out a required punctuation mark in one of the data files in Character Builder Lite, you'll get an error log telling you which feat/enhancement/destiny has an error. (Tools => Error Log becomes an option if there are any errors on loading any of the files.)

    Far too often it describes the error as "xxx has an invalid spell: Wail of the Banshee" but at least the "xxx" part tells you what's broken. I should probably look into that Wail of the Banshee issue and fix it...

    EDIT: As an example that gives a proper message, if you edit Feats.txt and go to any feat and misspell one of its requirements, you'll get full details on what's wrong. I just now changed the "z" to an "s" in "Weapon Specialization" in the "One of" requirements for the Bow Strength feat, and on load my error log says:

    1 Errors:

    Feat: Bow Strength
    Invalid requirement: Feat: Weapon Specialisation: Ranged

    On v5, I would love to get back to programming on it. But as I am really the only one keeping up on v4 I did not want to just let the users site and wait while I tried to figure out one more langue I have never been trained to program and not work on v4. So I made the decision to bring some of v5 to v4 so that I could keep up with SSG. I would defiantly like to get back to v5 some day.

    As for the verification of the text file I might be able to add that in to help out till the input screens can be created or I switch back to v5. One of the hard things I have with working with v5 is the database and the call routines. They are not as intuitive for me as a lot of the other things have been. I am sure I will be able to figure them out with time.

    Yeah, that's the folder I was looking at but I didn't see any exe files, and using the Find File feature didn't turn up anything for chargen.exe

    I've heard it helps if you search for the actual file name, instead of the folder name where the file resides plus the file extension. In my defense I also tried *.exe, but it turns out the * isn't recognized. I could have found it if instead I tried .exe.

    OK, redoing up my FvS tonight, I was *not* able to take Epic Skills as a regular feat choice at 21, 24, or 27. Safe to say it's not a regular feat choice at 30 (especially since my L30 couldn't convince Fred to let him have it). Will be updating the wiki momentarily. This is not a trainable feat, merely an auto-granted one with epic levels.

    (I was, however, able to take the wrong blinking deity feat, which means I need to buy another lesser heart from the store *sigh*)

    Thank you very much for this info. Will have to pass it on the the people at the WIKI as they think you can take it at lvl 21 and 24 (unconfirmed)

    Glad you found it now. By the way I do believe if you go back about 4 - 6 version like 4.30 you might find that the exe was named chargen.exe. When we changed to program completely over in name to DDOCharPlanner I took the steps to rename the exe file and the folder it sits in for continuity. I did not like that the program was called Ron's Character Planner, the folder was DDOCharPlanner, and the exe was chargen.exe. You have not lost your mind yet. Talk to you soon.
