    I know that you guys are working hard on v.5, but to my understanding you guys are still a ways out on the alpha of that and so I was wondering if it might be possible after U23 to get a Harper tree added to v.4?

    Sorry to ask, but it really has been driving me nuts when considering builds for the near(ish) future.

    Its not possible to add the Harper tree to the v.4 Planner. The enhancement system was never built to handle a tree that didn't belong to a specific Class or Race.

    Yep. This is a big part of the reason why we decided to rebuild the planner from the ground up. For as long as I can remember, every time there was a game update, we'd have to recode huge chunks of the planner to add stuff we hadn't designed for. We needed a new code base that was much more flexible and wouldn't break every time there was a game update. I think we are achieving that.

    And there was a great wailing and gnashing of teeth.

    Nah, that's cool. I just figured that it never hurt to ask.

    Thanks for the prompt reply.

    This already exists in the form of right clicking an enhancement, just like in the real game on live. Both only work as you're applying points, though. Once you Accept changes, you can no longer pull them off with right click.

    Are you essentially asking for right click removal to work for any/all enhancements taken on that level, even after the Accept button has been pressed? If so, I think I agree with you.

    Hey all

    I know this version of the planner is a bit out of date now with some of the changes we had recently and the upcoming changes for U23. Version 5.0 is going to be a little while still.

    So I've decided that I'll take a bit of time to add the new enhancements tree from U23 into the planner (I can't add the harper tree). This should allow you guys to make some builds (not including harper stuff).

    Besides the Vanguard tree and changes to the Sacred Defender and Stalwart Defender trees; what other changes have there been that i'm forgetting about atm?

    Also keep in mind that I may not update the images for these enhancements as they take a bit time to do.

    All the bard trees, including the non-existent swashbuckler in the current version. I've also found that the archmage tree is not quite correct. I've updated it in my own file, haven't gotten around to the bard ones. I've also edited the iconics to allow you to change the class at level 1. Epic levels don't increase saves/bab/skills, but I have no idea how to fix that. Can't remember any other changes off-hand.

    Default Version 4.23.1

    Evening all

    You can now download version 4.23.1 Here.

    A few thing before you go and download:
    1. This was a very quick update of the enhancement changes that have happened in the last year and the upcoming changes in U23.
    2. I highly recommend you download this into a new folder that is different from the old version as it may have quite a few bugs in it. If I find time, i will patch stuff where needed, but no promises as I want to keep my focus on the new Version 5.0.
    3. You will notice that the new trees are missing a lot of thier Icons. (sorry but that takes time to find the correct ones and prep them for an update).
    4. The Harper Tree is not in this update (I tried to see what I could do, but there was no quick fix to add it.).
    5. Any Previous saved files that Have Fighter, Paladin, Bard in them should not be loaded, as they will break stuff. (You will have to start new with those builds.)

    Enjoy all.

    @ Dragon Star : Wow! I can't believe you did that so quickly!! TYVM.

    @ Peng: Can you share how you got the Iconics to allow class choice at level 1?

    Getting the following message when I tried running the new version:

    DDOCharGen.exe - System Error

    The program can't start because MSVCP110.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

    Old version works fine, that file is in multiple locations on my PC, not sure why it says it is missing.

    Ouch, sorry guys, I forgot to change the run time library. I made the changes and will let you know once the fix is posted for it.

    I don't have the original file anymore, but I'm pretty sure this is what I did.

    Open RaceFile.txt in the DataFiles folder. Under each race, there's a short description, then a line for base stats, then several lines for advancement. The first 3 advancement lines after base stats on non-iconics should be:
    Code:
    ADVANCEMENT: 1, RACEANDSEX, Select a Race and Sex;
    ADVANCEMENT: 1, CLASS, Select an Initial Class;
    ADVANCEMENT: 1, NAMEANDALIGNMENT, Select a Name and Alignment;
    Iconics simply don't have that 2nd line that allows you to select a class. Just copy+paste it in for each of the iconics and that should allow you to choose whatever class you want at 1st level.

    Disclaimer: You should probably save the original RaceFile.txt elsewhere in case you screw up. Screwing up may or may not cause your computer to explode. This might also mess with any iconic save files.

    @Peng: That did it, thanks! And now I see how easy it might be to change other minor little details.

    Default Existing Data files that will not load.

    If you have an existing Data file that will not load into the new version it is most likely a case of an issue with the enhancements. Load the old data file into the old program that you kept around just encase, remove the enhancements, save to new data file. Try the newly created data file in the new version, you should be good to go.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks for the update. Just some quick bugs:

    In the warchanter tree, you got rid of the arrow linking Boast and Words of Encouragement, but left the pre-req in the enh file. Pretty easy fix, just open the enh file, search for words of encouragement, and get rid of the pre-req lines.

    Also in the wc tree, the core ability Fighting Spirit should add 25 hp, not 20.
