on one of my newly ( at least I think it is a newly created) created character files, I get a crash error "the prgram has stopped working..."
This happens when I load the saved character, select any level at or above 20, then select Forum Export. The forum export will then come up blank. If I click on any check box the program crashes. I can email or upload the character save file if needed. Just tell me where.
edit:
Just noticed that when I got to level 20 and check the skills panel, it is blank, but only at level 20

Great job guys thank you for everything that you do! So far not come across any other issues or anything but will be keeping my eyes peeled.

Heya Ron et al,
First off I would like to say I greatly appreciate the use of your planner, I have been using it since version 3.71 and its been a lifesaver.
I'm having some performance issues (severe FPS drop) with the new enhancement window (actually, the same issue has always happened when I clicked on true reincarnation at level 1, but since that was a once an done thing and only presented when those icons were drawn, I never bothered trying to troubleshoot my system, other than updating video drivers). When clicking on the modify enhancment button, window opens an I get to watch it draw the icons in each tree, twice. It takes apx 4 seconds to complete and happens when scrolling the trees too.
I am hoping I can get some info about what is different with those 2 sections, so that I can attempt to tweak/troubleshoot my system. DxDiag reports no issues with DirectDraw or Direct3D, DDO runs at apx 30 fps.

An yes, I know it's gettin very long in the tooth, but upgrades are not in the budget.
Just wanted to clarify that system has no issues drawing any of the other icons, skill, Feat or spells. Has happened to me with every version of planner, but only the true reincarnation section.

It's not a DirectX issue. The planner doesn't use DirectX.
It's hard to say. My best guess is it might be a memory issue. The enhancement screen uses a LOT of graphics, and you might be having to swap out graphics between RAM and VRAM. But I'm not sure why that would affect the Reincarnation screen though.
There is nothing I know of that is different between those screens and the main screen. The main screen does do some back-buffering things that we aren't doing in the other screen, but that's a recent addition. I can look at the enhancement screen and see what we can do about back buffering those, that might help you.

I was working on an LR plan for my FvS, and I came across a couple of things in the Version 04.19.02 planner:
When I load a saved file, the AoV tree is missing (needs to be selected) and is reset to empty. The AoV enhancements are in the saved text file, though.
Seek Eternal Rest is included in the Level 2 spell list (this is a Cleric Only spell that grants the caster +4 to sacred level for the purpose of turning Undead)Lesser Restoration is missing from the Level 2 spell list.
When I load a saved file, some spells are listed as "Level 0" in the known spells window, and many of the spells taken at Level 6 and higher are not displayed (or are displayed as blank), though they all appear to be under the SPELLLIST heading in the saved file.
I can't select any of the options in the Efficient Metamagic line in the AoV tree, even though the planner correctly shows which of the metamagics I have/don't have. Early on, I thought I was able to, so maybe something in the file got corrupted with repeated loads and saves. I have been playing with the one file, and have not tried restarting from scratch.
I printed out the snapshot and leveling guide, which worked fine, so no issues with my LR. I just wanted to bring these to your attention.
Thanks much for all the great work on the planner.

I selected spells on a wizard build I just made with the newest version and they are discarded past last 13.

Frogger, is there any way you can send me that save file in it's entirety for me to try to duplicate what you are seeing?
You can send it to rhiler@rjcyberware.com

Hey all,
The spell issue has been fixed. This is a "once and for all" fix for a long term issue with the planner.
In game, Turbine has spells listed like such: "Aid, Mass". Which is fine. However, for the planner, we use a comma in a lot places as a delimiter between fields, including in the save files. Having an extra comma in the name of the spell was confusing our parser, and it wouldn't load the save files correctly.
In the past what I did to fix this was to simply remove the comma, and list the spell as "Mass Aid". That works, but I didn't love it. I always try to emulate as close as I can the same options you have in game. Otherwise it can be difficult to find in the long list of options at the trainer the spell you want. So with the 04.19.00 build, we went back to the old style, "Aid, Mass".
But of course that fubared our parser again. Which is why you guys were seeing bad spell lists when you saved, and subsequently reloaded, character files.
I was aware of this issue, but I forgot to do anything about it in the long long list of stuff we were cramming into the 04 build. So now that things are a little calmer, I'm getting back to it. I've fixed this issue by changing the delimiter for spell names from a comma to a double comma (which is something Dragon is also doing for Destiny stuff). That way the parser can tell the difference between a comma in a spell name and the end of the spell name.
Unfortunately, this means old save files (prior to our current development build) won't load. What I've done is I've simply disabled spell loading from save files for any file saved prior to version 04.19.03. That means when you load an old character up, you will have to redo his/her/its spells. Sorry about that. But there is really no other way to fix this. Once you redo your spells and save, they will load fine (since they will be saved under 04.19.03), including any spells with commas in their name.
By the way, you should see the Destiny screen Dragon is building for you guys. Good stuff!
