Default Theory build: 70+ dc evo cleric

Was wondering about a max-dc evo cleric, and here's what I came up with. Did I miss anything? Sustainable and not store-purchased, ideally.

    18 base
    7 levelups
    6 tome
    2 feats
    2 completionist
    8 enhancements (2 DD, 2 RS, 1 Protection, 1 racial, 2 capstone)
11 item (such a thing can exist, yes?)
    3 insightful
    1 exceptional
    2 alchemical
    6 destiny
2 acute instinct twist (chug those rage pots!)
    2 ship
    2 yugo
    ---
    72 wisdom (31 mod)

    10 base
    9 heighten
3 feats (focus, gtr focus, epic focus)
    2 enhancements (DD tier 4 & 5)
2 spell focus mastery item (eg: tablecloth)
5 evo focus item (eg: sage locket)
    1 wizard past life
    3 sorc past lifex3
    5 twists (magister & draconic)
    31 wisdom mod
    ----
    71 evo dc

    What this ties up:

    Class: pure 20 cleric
    Race: human or helf
Active Destiny: shirardi, primal, flowers or exalted
    Twists: (11 fate points)
    ...1) Evo Specialist
    ...2) Precise evo
    ...3) Acute Instincts
Heroic Feats: (7 if helf, 8 if human)
    ...Evo Focus
    ...Gtr Evo Focus
    ...Completionist
    ...Past Life: Wizard
...3 or 4 to play with
    Epic feats: (3)
    ...Epic Evo Focus
    ...Great Wisdomx2
    Items:
    ...Weapon or Shield: Alchemical

There is Nether Orb and Sage Locket for Evocation +5.

Also: you can take Epic focus more than once?

    Nice.

Yeah I added an edit saying I wasn't sure but now I'm thinking about it and am pretty sure you can't. I'll update that now.

EDIT: All updated. Now the only strictly required item is an alchemical weapon or shield.

I wasn't aware that these would stack? Have I missed something?

No, you haven't, those 2 items don't stack. I know this since my caster cleric has both the SR tablecloth and the sage locket equipped atm and I still get "only" a +5 to evocation DC from items, not +7.

That still gives a very impressive 69 evocation DC (although personally I wouldn't bother with the pot-based extra wisdom and actually making any alchemical item is nearly impossible now due to the rarity of LoB/MA LFMs, so that'd be 66).

Where does the +6 wisdom from tomes come from? Are they adding +6 tomes now?

I can't speak for Sage's Locket in particular, because I don't have one, but if it's not stacking, it's the exception.

My Tablecloth is stacking just fine with any of my spell-school-specific DC focus items. And though I don't have one yet, it stacked just fine with the +5 on The Nether Orb on Lama during the open beta, as well.

    Are you sure?
AFAIK, spell focus mastery has never stacked with spell focus of specific schools on items. I had the stormreaver napkin equipped for a very long time on my wizard, and it never stacked with any other spell focus item like the epic robe of shadow.

I just checked the wiki, and it agrees with me.

Wait, there are no +6 tomes? Surely there are; the store always gets the "best-1" tomes, so since +5 tomes hit the store I assume +6 tomes can drop in-game. Also, it makes sense that as the level cap increases more powerful tomes become available.

Yes, we're sure. It does indeed stack as of U19. Wiki is outdated. Whether this is WAI or not is unconfirmed, but they went to the trouble to remove the text from the mastery description that said "This will not stack with other focus items." That's enough to convince me that it is WAI.

We were talking about this in guild just last night. It appears as though the tablecloth is stacking with spell-school-specific DC focus items. I don't know if this is WAI or not, but it sure would give my Cleric a much needed Necro DC boost.

If you plan on running any EE Stormhorns quest, then be prepared to be disappointed with a 71 Evocation DC. You won't be Imploding many mobs.

Divine DC casting took a step in the right direction with Shadowfell, but it's got a ways to go to be viable in EE content.

    Default Item Evo Stack

Yes actually these both DO stack.

I have been running my artificer with the Sage's locket. I just pulled the Tablecloth yesterday. Put it on and got another +2 to my TD and BB. The Dragon Mantle from the Eveningstar Challenge also stacks with Sage's Locket.

So it would seem a Spell Focus and an Evocation Focus item are considered different bonuses and thus do stack.

So yes most definitely. This is confirmed.

I did this for you a week ago already! :-) Out in the main "spellcaster" forum, and covering FvS and Druid as well as Cleric, and other spell schools, too.

And you're missing +1 Profane from your Wisdom breakdown. Litany of the Dead.

Monk stances are feats now, free to Monks of the appropriate level, and purchasable by Monk-splashed characters.

Though probably not good in practice, for theory crafting, take a level of Monk, then spend 3 feats picking up Grandmaster, go into the highest Ocean stance, and you gain another point of DC. (-2 from capstone, +4 from stance = gain of +2 Wisdom.)

I've seen that thread, but honestly I can't really parse it. Information overload combined with all the colors ended up just confusing me.

    Good call!

Ah, good point. Okay, so +2 wisdom potential for a clonk.

The Cloak of the Dragon at the challenge vendor is listed as an enhancement bonus, which means it will not stack with the +5 enhancement bonus you can get for specific schools. All of the Wizard's Ward's in the AH are listed as enhancement bonuses as well, but I'm unable to tell if they were pulled post or pre update. If the Tablecloth is currently stacking, it may be the exception.

I tested the stacking issue extensively on Lama months ago way back during the Enhancement alpha, before it was even the Expansion beta. I tried the Orb and both Cloaks, though I didn't have an old Napkin handy.

Multiple Mastery items never stacked with each other, and multiple school-specific items never stacked with each other. But Mastery + school-specific stacked every time. Combined with the change to the descriptions, it seemed to be that the change was intended.

If it's not an intended change, it should be. Mastery is otherwise worthless in the face of the new +5 Focus items. I'd love a dev comment either way, but we haven't had one yet.

I stand with SirValentine on this one. It didn't used to stack but it does now. The description was changed to remove the "this does not stack" text so the new stacking appears to be WAI.

Regardless of whether it's WAI or not, it should be.

I agree that it should be an intended change, and it seems that it was. I was going by testing on live, because I prefer that to testing on Lamannia and hearsay, but my results were off because I can only test on the Napkin (since my DC caster is in the middle of a TR) and was only looking at enchantment saves. Something else was creating a conflict there (probably House P ship buff), so the improved DC wasn't showing up. Looking at necro saves, it is indeed stacking. So the Napkin can be added to the list of spell focus mastery items that stack.

Now I guess I should resume farming Wizard's Wards.

    Good find, guys.
