Default Flame Blade Build Non Druid

I have been bouncing around this idea of a Flame Blade Dual Wield build. Soon I will have completed my 3rd Druid life and the active Past Life is Flame Blades and a +2 Elemental Resist. So I started to think up ways to use that, primarily Elven for the Scimitar bonuses. I have thought of making an Arti/Ranger/Monk (Arti for Traps and Arcane Buffs, Ranger for Tempest and Divine Buffs, Monk for Evasion and Wis AC bonus), Cleric/Monk, Paladin/Monk, or FvS. Do any of these concepts seem like they could work? Would a high Wis, TwF build make sense? I have played around a little bit with some level 7 Vet 2 Characters and they are fun. However, I am hesitant to place my 10th life TR into this knowing it could be a long run.

Did you preorder Shadowfell? You could try it out with a level 15 version as long as it has at least 1 level of paladin. Just to get a better feel for the scaling.

Here's my question as I'm thinking of picking up the druid active on my next fvs life, does the feat version scale with your character level to improve the blade? My main goal would be slightly different than yours in that I'm looking at it for pre-blade barrier levels but with how often fred glitches out that means if it doesn't scale I'd be left with a worthless feat at higher levels.

Paladin and Druid don't mix, alignment issues, I tried that.

    It scales.

I have been trying it on my Caster Druid. It is fun so far, but I have no real offensive combat feats.

    A few things to consider:
    • What do you plan to do against fire-immune/-resistant mobs?
    • Flame Blades disperse whenever you unequip them. For a regular druid, this is merely annoying; but the PL-feat version can only be used 3 times per rest. Can you be sure none of your caster or other gear goes into your hands?
    • The main incentive for using Flame Blades on a monk is you remain centered while doing so; but in the (pre-closed-beta) Enhancement overhaul, monk / Kensei can remain centered with their chosen weapon. If & when that change makes it into live, you'll have much better DPS options than Flame Blades.
    • Does Flame Blades' base dmg scale up at epic lvls? If not, then I don't consider it a viable epic weapon.

My view is it's never a good idea to base a build on a single ability / item / spell etc. Flame Blades are decent for a first-lifer with no weapons; but as a multi-TR, I would expect you to have access to better DPS options.

I recently ran Taming the Flames with my caster druid and the blades are useless, same with Blackbones. So this is not truly ideal, now they work perfect against Ghostly Skeletons. I do have some q-staffs for back up. On the bright side I still have 10 more levels before I TR. I have not read anything about Epic level blades, my assumption is that they do not progress. The blades might become a back up to the Q-staffs, against specialty enemies.

I've been using flameblades on my 17/3 druid/monk, and they're actually pretty useful most of the time. they break DR and are only truly a hindrance when the enemies have high fire resist, then i switch to wraps. Also, for most fire immune enemies are easily killed with spells.
