Default A Way To Solve Spell Component Space In Inventory

A lot of players have been wanting to use spell components in containers so they don't have to use up backpack space. Unfortunately, spells cannot be cast while components are in containers. So I've been thinking, instead of using actual bags or some other container, add a new "components tab" in Inventory that can be purchased at the ddo store, and/or also be given as a gift for favor points. These spaces can only hold spell components, not any other items.

Would this be feasible? Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

Devs could take about 6 hours to write code that grabs components from containers including QA testing I'm betting, and leverage existing code that grabs junk from containers that perform actions, like crafting an item. The reason there's no spell component bags is because no one bothered to get around to it.

Which is silly in my opinion. If they put them in the store, they'd sell.

Put Eschew material on some items (on a quiver for example...).
Or create a favor reward that give permanent eschew material.

The Fatespinner Destiny already gives it, and they have, for better or worse, Omnidust ingredients as well.

Other than taking up inventory spaces, they're pretty much as well addressed as they're going to be.

But, then, we've been asking for wand, scroll, and spell component bags/satchels/belts/pouches/etc for years now.

Or, you could give 'eschew materials' as a free feat to all casters flat out, since the DOO source documentation says that components are not to be bothered with unless they are expensive, or there is some 'special reason' you can't use the components.

Eschew Materials already ignores expensive components (death pact diamonds, stoneskin, &c).

And there's already stuff like antimagic fields.

There's no point whatsoever in bothering with these components.

    It isn't fun.

That's why the creators of the tabletop game said to not bother keeping track of them.

If DDO must make a buck, make us buy a ''magic bag,'' which acts as an infinite-store of omnispell dust, or gives us the eschew materials feat, and charge us 300 TP for it.

There, there's a solution that would make everyone happy.

I'm up for which ever way they decide to implement this, (if they decide to). imo it doesn't make sense to carry components loosely in a backpack. However, if the logic is to not keep components in a container, then the logic is flawed since a backpack is a container where spell components can be lost in the bottom and also shuffled in with other weapons and items.

Having spell components handy in a bag on your belt or whatever makes a lot more sense to me.

If they don't want to sell spell component bags in the ddo store and come up with brand new coding, they can easily create a new inventory tab and basically use what they're using now, and still sell this option at the ddo store. I guess it's up to the devs, the customer demand is there and the option can easily sell iteself.
