Reffered 3 friends and..............nothing

so, after seeing on twitter that we can get a cute little Gelationous Cube pet for reffering friends now, i immediately called 3 friends of mine that have expressed an interest in DDO in the past, got there emails, and sent them the referrals.

each person sined up for an account almost immediately and i checked the referrals page to verify that all 3 had


the page: http://my.ddo.com/rewards

shows me as SUCCESSFULLY reffering 3 friends, and tells me to check my in-game inventory for the Pet.



i login, check my Main's Inventory, and nothing there. no pet, no pet certificate.



i guess i'll give a day or 2 before i start to get upset, but the page implied i'd have it already




edit: after waiting a bit a re-logging, Cube was in Inventory as promised, just had to wait a bit i guess

This happened to my character as well. Logged out/back in and the cube shows up in inventory (there's a small delay between when it confirms your referrals and when it hands out the pet).

Did you check the inventory of all of your characters? It may not have been sent to your main, since turbine has no real way to know which character that is. It could have been sent to the first character in your list alphabetically, or even just to a random character you have. I would check them all, and then post back here as to whether or not you got the certificate.

When my successfully referred friend sets up their account, how do I get my creature companion?

After all three of your friends have made accounts and are showing as confirmed referrals in your referral page, the next time you log in your character will receive a creature companion certificate automatically in their inventory. This certificate is only bestowed to the first character to log in after you meet your referral quota, so if you don’t see it on the character you expect, be sure to check your other characters!

At least, that's how it's supposed to work. Checking all your characters just in case can't hurt, though.

Did you check the character at the top of your list of characters? I know when we got a free greater tome of learning, it just went to the first character on the alphabetical list. Maybe that's just because my friends and I haven't set a character as our "main," but it's something to check.

so it takes a little while for whatever automated system handles the send outs to catch up with all the people likely referring friends like mad to get this thing

Cosmetic pets are permanent, once purchased they stay with you and can be summoned at will.

Nice dodge, Cordovan. I'm one of the players that lost all their pets about the same time that guild ships were getting wiped. All 3 collector's edition pets, the Stone of XP snow wolf cub, and all the collector's edition collars are missing. The blue collar from the CE is gone, although the red Render that it was given to remained.

I've posted multiple times, filed tickets, plays 100 questions for GMs, and been told "Thanks for helping us investigate this issue"... But offered no resolution. Ticket closed (problem's not resolved guys, bad customer service). Where are the pets that you advertised, I paid for, and your bug took away?

While honestly there are far more critical game breaking bugs that you guys rushed out the door that need to get fixed first, it's a HUGE slap in the face to promote more pets when the last promotional pets you gave out are broken and missing.

Unless of course an update comes along and eats half of them for you. One of my guildies is STILL missing some of the cosmetic pets that he bought out of the DDO store.

Given that entirely different divisions are- unless Turbine is doing things in a very unusual manner- working on the pets and, say, bugs, the new people brought in by the promotion and any funds gained from store purchases will only serve to support Turbine's efforts..

1: It's not a dodge when you didn't give the details. I for one also assumed you simply didn't know how to access your pet stable, from your phrasing. You can't fault Cordovan for that.

2: Forums and bug reports wouldn't relate in any way, obviously, they're not official or appropriate channels, respectively.
Likewise, if the 'tickets' you mentioned only include in-game/DDO tickets, be aware that the game tickets are only for dealing with in-game elements and absolutely cannot affect accounts. Any GM you spoke to should have informed you of this.

For any matters relating to your account, that's the only place you'll be able to get a response.
