I would like to implement a small mp3 file in game and assign to each of the bard buffs for a spark of creativity and uniqueness. Any objections? You know it would be pretty sweet.

Hearing the stairway to heaven as I received a greater heroism buff? I can dig it.
This comes up from time to time, but it's still a good idea.
Copyright issues are often raised as an objection, but I think Turbine has a few possible workarounds, especially if the changes are made at each client's level and don't affect what the whole party hears.
Idea 1 - Change the file structure of the game so we can see "bardsong1.wav" etc., in the directories. Those of us with enough brain power can change the file to play whatever we like, say a Black Sabbath tune for the Ironskin Chant.
Idea 2 - Make an interface similar to the windows sound panel, where the user can associate certain sound files on the computer with actions in the game.
only if I dont have to hear other people's music I hate most other people's taste in music as far as I am concerned there is no music after some time in the 80's and most good music is from the 60's-70's
Beware the Sleepeater
File this under things that could be directly copied from LOTRO. Unfortunately, the way you would really want to do this for a bard song would involve recording your song and being able to play it every time you clicked that song. I suspect that copyright issues would be harder to defend than LOTRO's ability to "play music".
Elephant in the room: Warner bought Turbine. Don't expect Turbine to be able to claim the remote possibility of anyone besides musicians signed to major labels being allowed to create music.
And how would they filter it to stop some profanity laden rubbish from inspiring competance? Or copyright issues?
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea but there are just to many hurdles to make it worthwhile.
The better idea would be to release 20-30 of their own short tunes that can be keyed similar to keymapping for each song type.
A friend will bail you out of jail.
A mate will be sitting in there beside you saying "**** that was awsome!!!"
Unguilded of Orien
More likely, turbine would give you a playlist of music from within the game, and let you purchase others for TP. Not that I would mind, depending on the music...
