    Default Maximize Feat for ranger?

    I'm just curious why
White Feather Sniper: A DPS and CC focused full time ranged pure ranger (Or any range ranger for that matter)
posts to put the Maximize feat at lvl 12. Does Maximize actually function in any way with Elemental arrows?

    No, it's for cure spells.

I personally prefer Empower Healing Spell, though on my current ranged ranger life I don't take either one. (I went elf with displacement, so I took Extend instead.)

I prefer Empower Healing as well, as the Cures still hit for heaps but use less SP. Does Empower Healing work on Cocoon?

Yes it does, and Maximize does not, which is another point in favor of Empower Healing Spell.

Yep. That explains why I would have been using Empower Healing

    Cheers.

Yes: also works with Renewal and Light the Dark, while Maximize doesn't.

Maximise will work on that empathy-powered (mass) lesser vigor from DWS though, which can give a pretty decent amount of fire & forget healing - i'd take maximise in heroics then swap it out for empower healing in epics to benefit the destiny stuff.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

If you plan to do that, be careful about when you take Maximize, because on a pure ranger you can take Max at lvl 6 but can't take Emp Heal until lvl 9. You can take Max after you gain lvl 1 spells, but you need to be able to cast Cure spells for Emp Heal and rgrs don't get CLW until lvl 8.

I'll just add that, I knew when designing White Feather Sniper I wouldn't be using cocoon for heals, and would be relying on my cure spells when consecration was on cooldown, so I wanted to get more out of them.

Also, after turning in old birthday cakes on a dozen or so mule alts for sp pots, my pot supply isn't really an issue.

That's just the reasoning as to why I chose maximize over empower heal on that build. Empower heal is a fine choice.
