what is the max favor achievable?

What is the current MAX FAVOR achievable? On ddowiki.com favor page it says current max 4,982 favor (as of Update 20) but in the U20 release notes it says "On reaching 5,000 total favor, a character now can speak with Nyx in the harbor to receive a +5 Ability Tome of their choosing". Which is it? 4982 or 5k+? I feel like a horse with a carrot dangled in front of it. :-)

It is 4982. I was the one that updated the wiki to say that. It also says that there is greater oversword reward which is still blank. I believe they are going to add it in future updates.

I'm not so sure about that. The 250 Favor for the Twelve has been achievable since I think Update 3, yet that's still a blank Favor.

Like I said, I feel like a hungry horse with a carrot being dangled in front of me just out of reach. If they intend to raise the max favor in the future, why even say anything about a +5 tome in release notes?

****! nice Erofen I am just under 4200 (4194) and am at the point where I only have lvl 18 and higher quests to complete on elite and about 7 hard and 7 normal completed quests that AREN'T elite. Obviously some of them are raids. And I also still have to work on challenge favor from Eveningstar and House Cannith. I have some done with 6 stars but that is about it.

Because they added +5 tomes as the 5000 favor reward.

Intend to raise max favor? You mean if they intend to release any new quest or raid for the entire lifetime of the game? Pretty sure they do intend to do that.

Then there is no way to get that +5 Tome for 5k favor (at this time) if the max favor is as stated 4982. That's the carrot dangling in front of me I was talking about. I realize this is frustrating...but it's much better than the alternative. They could have announced they were "planning" on putting +5 tomes in as the 5000 favor reward and then abandoned the plan after they added enough favor to the game to make it accessible.

*IF* what they said in the release notes is correct, they already did the coding for the +5 tomes and now we just have to wait for the favor to be added.

Both ways you don't get +5 tomes now, but with the implemented way you do get them in the future.

It's rather sad that in order to be optimistic about the game we have to say "Well, they only half-fcked us this time around, instead of fully-fcking us like they usually do", but that's just Turbine's business model. Half or full, we're fcked either way.
