    No I completely missed the staff - unfortunately I have the bad habit of ignoring quarterstaffs completely. Using the staff would require getting insightful potency somewhere else - will have to noodle on that a bit - thanks for pointing that out!

    I just did some quick math and it looks like queen's sceptre and resplendent fury beat out staff of summer solstice on dps. If it drops for me I will still take it and before going into a new room to fight swap it on and cast a quick spell then swap back for the 1000 bonus temp hp - once per minute if it works like lgs.

    I added spellpower and crits. If you make the following swaps before boss fights:

    1) Swap on Clouded Dreams for 10% exceptional crit chance and 20 exceptional spellpower
    2) Swap on Legendary Queen's Sceptre for 77 insightful potency and 33 spellcraft
    3) Swap on Legendary Resplendent Fury for 30 more insightful light spellpower + 18% insightful light crit chance - for just the light/alignment portion of spell rotation and swap back

    You get a 28.8% dps increase for boss fights with these swaps over the max-DC setup.

    If you take scion of the plane of fire you gain an additional 12% dps increase on top of that increase.

    For the more DPS focused build I am finding exalted angel a little better than draconic incarnation so far - which I guess makes sense since exalted angel adds light spells, light spellpower, rebuke foe and synergizes well with shield of condemnation's 50% vulnerability to light/alignment damage.

    Default Alternate Charisma Build - First-Life and Solo-Friendly

    The goal of this build is to provide an option for a first-life player that works in a group setting but is also solo-friendly when nobody is available to group with. This build prioritizes having multiple spellpowers (positive, negative, fire, light/alignment, force) to make use of all the best favored soul spells. On a first life build you will want to fully meta all slas and use unmetad spells to conserve spell points when soloing.

    Some other features of this build is automatic debuffing (reflex save from magister, will save from crushing despair proc on pendant of bottled moonlight) and a high diversity of spells to deal with immunities and resistances.

    Default Tiefling!

    I've made a similar build with tiefling and tested a little on hardcore server. It worked fine!
    Added just 22 Reaper points wich are easy to get and "basic" to have a +1 CHA and a +1 CON.
    I posted the gear also with some augments. This build is damage oriented with some cc via soundburst, BOGW, and great color spray.

Favored soul is so good on hardcore because of the bonus hp at 7 combined with the high dc potential for a first-lifer. The silent ones though...

    I am still working on a wis based FvS and I think the actual best choice is shifter. I have a version easy equipped and another one that needs a lot of gear grinding. I will post them in the next days

    This is a possible TR for my main toon Harex. It misses racial TRs for WIS and it has only 47 reaper points and Epic Completionist. The gear is simple to find, just added of Essence of Epic Litany's and Wild Fortitude set Augments.
    In Raid healing situation you can swap your Belt and Necklace and use LGS (Helm: Positive/Ethereal/Dominion all 3 tiers - Belt: Positive/Ethereal/Escalation tier 1 & 2 - Fire/Ethereal/Dominion tier 3) for sp and positive critical damage boost and mantain 4 pieces winter set. Any advice is good

    It looks solid and definitely has a higher dc potential than aasimar. Does the +4 rage bonus to wisdom stack with acute insticts? I usually avoid twisting acute insticts on wisdom casters because I always forget to take rage potions, but with shifter you have another way to rage.

    Does acute instinct stack with the rage bonus from shifter? I assume it does, but sometimes the typing in EDs isn't always obvious.

    i have a entirely different setup as a charisma based necro speced dragonborn
    3 set, bracers armor cloack (tansmut cloack swap for frog)
    collective for con ins con
    helm quality 4 con slavers with reaper would be best in slot but i use a random reaper stat helm
    boots sunken slippers with quality char
    neck artifact charisma
    belt gsteel posit crit damage or swap in for spell penetr
    trinket blossom for mrr and wisdom, with a sunken slipper swap and sentient alchemical frog works after a prayer in most content i need it to work at
    rings are shattered onyx and the winter one with profane hp, could do slavers in 2nd slot
    Put 4 con set on random items
    weapon prince scepter
    shield, alchemical

    Lotsa swaps, around 5 pairs for different gsteel, 1 swap for r10 selfhealing, 1 for max trance for char to heal skill, 1 for wisdom frog

    I find this setup and this race work the best in magister as i can hit enough dc to instakill or cc even during despair encounters in sharn and feywild

    Wisdom shifter is fun only for the sake of having blood feast swap for more survival, but otherwise it is behind in dcs by few points that make of break some encounters.
    If r10, drop maximize and empower, 2 feats that can be used on more important things


    I never write what to use in gloves slot, as we have only 1 choice at present for any kind of dc or caster.

    I am not sure if it's helpful, but I did an U50 analysis on a casting warlock and here it is: U50 Preview 2: Endgame Itemization Adjustments (ddo.com)

    Overall, I think you can expect to completely re-gear as the stat squish isn't applied equally.     As far as U51 DC casting will be much easier - it's effectively going away as a speciality - you get max dc by going tier 5 in any epic destiny in a caster or hybrid tree(such as shiradi). So a favored soul could go wisdom-based horizon walker bow in shiradi for dps along with top-tier dc casting instead of relying on spellcasting for dps. You won't match the favored enemy damage of a ranger, but it will be far better than spellcasting dps and you can still have a workable soundburst/implosion/greater color spray/comet fall for aoe crowd control. Gearing would be wallwatch + magewright for starters.

    I think it's going to be fine. I look forward to being able to build an arcane warrior type build with U51.

    Well, I'm going ahead with my fvs, just trying shifter wis caster now. It works very fine for now, hoping to stay good after all updates

    Default U50 Gear Set - Charisma

    This gear set uses many raid items so it may not work for everyone, but it seems to max out DC and DPS nicely with swap off-hands to switch between dps, dc and debuffing as needed. As was the case before U50 a dragonborn charisma favored soul will have one of the highest DCs in the game and with all the gear choices it's also possible to max out DPS in the same gear set with raid items. The only missing dps item is quality spell potency which is hard to fit in since magewright goggles competes with the best charisma dc artifact in the game.

    Goggles: Legendary Magewright Goggles Quality Intelligence 3, Spell Penetration 9, Illusion Focus 6, Insightful Illusion Focus 3 (Sapphire of False Life 48, Topaz of Greater Necromancy Slotted)
    Helmet: Legendary Elder's Cap: Intelligence 13, Illusion Focus 6, Concentration 20, Spell Saves 11 (Globe of Imperial Blood slotted) - Reaper ability helm swap for absolute max dc, but don't sweat the reaper bonus - this build has one of the highest dcs in the game.

    * For boss fights swap to Legendary Resplendent Fury or LGS debuffer as party needs dictate. I like fire and DC boosts for mobs with fire for aoe spells/slas. You can also swap in a trinket with force spellpower for boss fights if you take arcane pulse and/or greater ruin.

    ** The Alchemical shield has tier 1 fire and tier 2 cold so tier 3 can be either evocation or necro. I prefer evocation for implosion + soundburst +dps as your single-target necro spells should mostly target low to mid fort-save enemies where the extra DC isn't critical.

    *** If you plan to always use Legendary resplendent fury, dusk is the better main-hand weapon.

    Set Bonuses:

    2 piece magewright: +3 DC, +3 Charisma, Intelligence and Wisdom, +5 Concentration and Perform
    3-piece Essence of Attunement Gaze (called Touch of Power): +15 artifact bonus to universal spellpower (sadly only 15 but worth the gear slot I think)
    2 piece elder's focus: +6 artifact to universal spell crit chance, 15% legendary bonus to universal spell critical damage
    4 piece winter: 30 artifact bonus to PRR, 30 artifact bonus to healing and repair amp, 10% legendary bonus to maximum hit points

    If you find yourself at an odd # for charisma you can potentially swap out 5-piece lunar magic for 4-piece eye of the beholder + 1 charisma although I am liking the dps gains from lunar magic.

    The only DC bonus missing is the +1 from a reaper ability bonus on helmet because it isn't currently possible on legendary elder's cap. If this is critical you can swap on a reaper ability bonus helm for mob fights (any) and swap to elder's cap for boss fights. Even on R10 I find arcane tempest, energy burst, etc. impactful against mobs and prefer the extra damage over 1 dc.

    I know several people that prefer to focus on just DC and defenses - dumping dps. I don't recommend this as you can easily fit in max dps boosts with the current gear.

    In the past I had to make several dps compromises to build for dc, but U50 did make gear tetris much easier..

    Default Non-raid gear version?

    I don't suppose you'd have a non-raid gear version? I've got a moth-balled FvS that I'd like to equip properly BEFORE I start raiding...he's also human, I hope that doesn't make a HUGE difference?

    Yes human is great because you get a bonus feat which can also be used to boost dc.

    This is a very defensive setup but also has solid dc and dps. It's good for soloing or just having a more survivable character in quests/raids.

    Key augments: greater evocation focus, Defense 32 for MRR, Intelligence 12 (not critical gives 6 spellpower), Good Luck +3 (not critical boosts saves and spellpower but try to get at least good luck +2), Greater Heroism (or cast scroll on yourself with UMD), Feather Fall, Deathblock, Resistance 10, Festive Charisma +2 (mabar festival)

    7 piece autumn/4 piece winter is another option that provides less defenses but a little more dps if you prefer a dps set-up, but it's a little harder to fit in all the other stats.

    I am not sure if you started down the cannith crafting journey, but if not I can provide some links on how to get started and get to a high crafting level fast.

    If you are looking specifically for raiding healing the gear set would squeeze in more positive spellpower, but the positive spellpower on this build is enough to heal raids as part of a more all-around favored soul that can solo or heal raids.
