    So the Lore on level 20 is getting improved from the ultra-crappy 3% up to 8%, and slightly increasing level 24 from 8% to 10%. OK.

    But meanwhile, you're nerfing the level 16, which currently runs multiple 15% elemental lores, down to only 7%. Sigh.

    Overall great that you made 28 level version on all items (nevertheless I suggest add Colorless Augment slot on all 28 level items).
    And most of them are upgrades (Ratkiller, Glass cannon, Cavalry Plate, Swashbuckler, Duelist’s Leathers, Brawling Gloves, Ring of Buccanner).
    Some are more usefull upgrades (like Glass Cannon) and some meaningless (like Ratkiller).

    Only one item was hit by BIG NERF hammer: Treasure Hunter’s Spyglass. Ornamental Dagger take only small nerf.

    First: why you guys destroy Treasure Hunter’s Spyglass? It was OP? You remove all the good stuff:
    • Insightful Intelligence
    • Open Lock
    • Enhanced (not competence) UMD +4 (Tier 3)
    • Lower Spot and Search by 2 (on level 20)

    If anyone ask me I will change it to:

    Bring back True Chaos (on levels 16-28) on Brigand’s Cutlass and Corrosive Salt (on levels 20-28) on Cutthroat’s Smallblade and that will be fine upgrade.

    Kind of bummed that the Spyglass is losing Insightful INT. But, I kind of understand with the UMD bonus.

    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

    I really hope these are just the base versions for each level. if you cant upgrade them and gain more bonuses then they effectively nerfed this. lvl 24 upgraded spyglasses had this Spot +20, Search +20, True Seeing, Insightful Intelligence +3, Open Lock +20, Enhanced Use Magic Device +4, Green Augment Slot. you lose some search and spot, you lose all the open lock, you lose all the insightful intelligence bonus, and it looks like you lose the "enhanced" part of the umd which allows it to stack with regular umd. At the end of the Wednesday live stream by cordovan, lynabel explained it lost the insight bonus to intelligence because they only had 4 slots. seriously if you cant revamp the items correctly then don't push them out. put it on hold till you actually get it working right, unless you meant to nerf the items then own it and don't give excuses.

    Scimitar looks good, an overall improvement.

    Is the Cutthroat's Smallblade going to lose it's increased threat range? It currently has a non-standard profile and crits 18-20.

    I'm going to echo other people's concerns about the Ornamental Dagger, the lesser maximize clicky was a nice thing to have. Also, it has an orange slot which is more versatile than the planned red one.

    The maul looks fine, Staggering Blow looks really weak in epics however with a DC of 17. Would be nice to see an Epic Staggering Blow.

    The buckler looks much better than the original! Same with the heavy armor and rune arm.

    The light armor lost Greater/Superior/Epic Nimbleness but kept Feat: Mobility. I would drop the feat and bring back Nimbleness, it far more useful and scales better.

    The gloves and ring seem fine.

    The Spyglass was nerf'd quite a bit. It would be a shame if it loses insightful intelligence and open lock.

    Cutthroat's Smallblade
    Bring back corrosive salt. I know it's not a ton of damage, but it's a fun effect.


    In general you are taking too much away from the original weapons. I know you don't want to make these "too powerful", but Cove is a limited time event. Seeing as players can't acquire the cove gear anytime they want, it's ok for these weapons to have a few more effects than other named gear with the same ML.

    To put it in perspective, players can burn through raid timers and get any raid gear they want within 1 week. For Cove gear we all have to wait for the event and hope that we have enough time to farm up whichever pieces we want while the event is active,.

    I would have the following comments on the loot pass. For the most part it looks like it is an improvement but I do have a few things I would like to address.

    Ornate Dagger- at lvl 4 you get Potency instead of SP on select elements, which means that overall you get a lower value. The Lore is general lore which means that your crit chance for Fire Ice and lightning at lvl 16 go way down.

    Swahbuckler – You seem to lose the Riposte Ability.

    Duelist Leathers – What is the Max dex of the armor? There is no mention of Superior and epic nimbleness that increased the max dex allowing you to utilize the dodge that you get.

    Cavalry Plate – Changes from Medium armour to Heavy armour. The False life that you get at lvl 20 is lower. The key benefit before was that it would count as medium armour at higher lvls.

    Ring of the Buccaneer – You lose the good luck bonus.

    Treasure Hunters spy glass – This looks to be a total nerf with no real reason to upgrade to the new version. The detect doors/true seeing remains the same across the lvls
    At lvls 4,8,12,16 the spot and search are 1 less than the previous version
    At LVL 20 This increases to 3 less
    Alt lvl 24 the old version did not increase so the difference is now only 2.
    The lvl 28 version is 2 higher than the old lvl 20 version, but you lose everything else meaning I don't think it is worth the effort to get.
    The UMD now goes up to +7 so that ends up being slightly better.

    And the big thing all improvements to INT are gone. In addition at lvl 24 you got Open lock at 20. Nope that’s gone too.

    Yeah, I see some significant nerfs, too. But if I'm not mistaken, I think we have still access to the old crafting system (WWL Livestream today at min 52:15) and we also don't need to upgrade the current items.

    Hi GramercyRiff. The DDO Wiki offers a lot of useful information about Treasure of Crystal Cove. It operates just like the kobold themed Cannith Challenges. You run the Crystal Cove challenge quest a number of times to collect various bits of currency, then trade those bits for equipment and consumables. Update 39 will introduce the updated equipment listed in the first post of this thread. I presume the trade in costs will also change.

    One thing Ive always wanted to see.

    We spend time, effort & $ to farm for the appropriate level thing we seek. I say we should be able to take *pick an item* that we make a lvl 4/8/12/16/20/24/28 and turn them all in for the SUPREME version of that item. (supreme like tomes)

    Hi Annex. Thanks for the info. So it's pretty straightforward. I was completely unfamiliar with this event as I've never played this game during summer for some reason, or it's never been available during the times I've played. Also I was away from the game completely for years.

    ****, I recently destroyed some crystal cove items to make inventory space(since they were garbage).

    The updates to some of these items look okay, most of the items are still bad compared to same level loot.

    Is the ornamented dagger not supposed to have a clicky anymore? It is a great clicky, and should not be gotten rid of, it should even be updated to be made better. Otherwise you just created a useless dagger that no one would slot because it is just really underwhelming.

    I think I sold all of my CC stuff some time ago when they became very outdated. not sure if I will participate in the event to get this new stuff, but it mostly depends on how active players are in wanting to group. if its just as bad as the last few years than I definitely wont bother.

    Can the DDO Developers explain as to why all my current: Bottomless Flask(s) of Rum has been deleted from both my Inventories and Banks upon entering Lamannia Preview U39?!

    I noticed within the 'Test Dojo' you could buy "Punch" (Lynn's Punch seemed to act like a weak Flask of Rum) albeit that doesn't explain why all my current "Bottomless Flask of Rums" were deleted; without any notice or compensation... :-/

    So, feels like a catch 22 now.

    Either have higher numbers for fewer affixes or have more affixes with lower numbers.

    Anyway, change is good so once again I applaud to this forecast.

    For the spyglass, maybe have it pre-slotted with an augment that gives a festival bonus to int in a range of 1 up to 5, starting at level 12 and incrementing by 1 every 4 levels?

    For the leathers, rather see increased increased dex to ac range then mobility.

    The shortsword, I never liked the hide and move silently on that blade so I'd rather see those two go and add something like a soundburst (the spell) going off on a critical strike. If it must be a utility then Freedom of Movement on a weapon would be unique.

    if you added old school deception/improved deception to the cuttroat smalblade, it would make a sweet offhand weapon for ninjas. As is, please just make it a dagger. Then folks will grind for it for vistani stealth builds
