    Default a b c classes

i keep reading in many different posts that the ddo classes are graded into a,b and c with a
being the best and c being the worst in terms of power. my question is what belongs to what ?

is a caster druid a B build or a C build. is a sorc an A build etc etc.

in your opinion what belongs to what.

we have tried having this discussion in guild and wow the difference in opinion is staggering so id
    thought id ask here.

    thankyou for the reply's

Have you ever tried to get 5 or more people to decide where to eat?

You will have better luck doing that then getting people to agree what is an A, B or C category Class. The reason is it has more to do with Build which can be between 1 and 3 different classes to make it up.

You will not get a consensus as some will base it on Burst DPS (regardless of how sustainable) some will base it on Highest possible DPS (regardless if the stars have to completely align), some will base it off being able to Solo, Get highest Kill Counts etc. for a particular quest or quest group - or even raids.

Of course to truly work this out you have the issue of EDs that also add to the power of a character.

Example: The builds that work towards using Primal Avatar. The builds themselves outside of Primal Avatar don't necessarily work well, but while in that ED are power houses.

Or working off features that the Dev's have stated is not working as they intended

Example: Druid Wolf form able to benefit from multiple fighting style feats that outside of using Animal forms others cannot.

So people will try, but they will not be successful in drawing a true line between Classes. They may come to agreement on Builds though, but I imagine there will still be grey areas

    I'll bite!

A-builds, IMO, are those that were not originally intended by the devs.

Shuriken: many great combos, most of the good ones I have seen involve some ranger levels.
Trees: broken as heck, but the most powerful melee build one can build everything considered.
Shiradi spammers: whatever combinations of heals (undead, robot), plus stacking of crit and crit damage (FVS, wizard, warlock). They come in different flavors.

For me those are the builds at the very top of the food chain right now.

Then there are "situationally" A builds. They excel in some type of content, examples include:

Spammy warlocks: for questing hard to beat them, its easy mode.
    Monckhers: burst damage, da best?
PM / insta killers: in some content they excel atm. LE raids and so on much faster with them on duty.
Sorcs: currently not bad for the slaver's grind.
Rangers: pretty nice for some of the beatdowns.

As for B and C builds, I think it is far more debatable.

No mention of broken wolf-druid builds or Mechanic x-bow builds? Wolves have the fastest boss kill times I've seen and mechanic x-bow adrenaline junkies are good at trash and bosses.

    A build

Anyone with a high enough charisma and dragonmark of finding to raise my loot level by 1

There isn't anything else I value as much in a party member.

I wouldn't play a wolf build if I wanted to "power game". And mechanics are good, but imho outclassed by the A builds I put there. I'd say B+.

In any case, you can make your own list

Amateurs. Buy one gigantic pizza with different toppings on it. Everyone takes the slices they want.

That ignores the Vegan and Glutton Free person. So more pizza for the other 3 I guess. And 3 people dealing with 2 people that are sour because they were ignored.

    Yep, no agreement

    Its a fail categorization...

a sorc is a sorc is a sorc..
the player that plays the sorc will define how good it is.
Player knowledge, ability and gear more define the ABC's... not the classes themselves.

You know there are better classes than others, and then there are some A builds that outclass most of the rest.

Player skill is part of the performance equation, but quite clearly not the only thing.

This is a general question, but why do people fear so much admitting to the build power scales? I am genuinely curious.
