    Default Tyranny of Dragons

so i've been looking around, and i've been hearing about the new D&D storyline. on the wizards.com website, cnn.com and of course neverwinter, all confirm that neverwinter is getting an expansion based on the new storyline, with no mention of DDO. i know we have anauroch, but are we getting left behind? are we going to see Tiamat, and witness the "Tyranny of Dragons"? inquiring minds would like to know

Default DDO is being abandoned :(

I've been following the D&D Facebook page and NEVER have they mentioned anything about DDO, just Neverwinter and that "Arena of War" game (Which i have tried and found boring after a short while). It's a good thing we got that while Lolth and the darkening thing, but I fear WotC has abandoned DDO.

    I hope I'm wrong though.
That's not lag, it's just DDO trying to become turn-based again.

As mentioned a while back, the events of Fire on Thunder Peak and Temple of the Deathwyrm serve as a prequel to Tyranny of Dragons; the events in those raids led to changes in the Cult of the Dragon, which ultimately lead to the upcoming events in the pen-and-paper Tyranny of Dragons!

i really hope we arent being abandoned/forgotten. i've been here since beta, survived "The Great Silence" before ftp, and everything else. I love this game. DDO has so much potential, i just want to see it come to fruition

thanks for the reply Steelstar! i appreciate it. does that mean we'll see a continuation of the cross platform/medium D&D storyline, or were we just serving as the prequel?

+1. For this information, this brings hope where it was missing.

They have already said a 3rd raid is possible this year and if I remember from an article I read is that wizards had turbine working on a raid with Tiamat. But if the article was thrust ful that I don't know and tbh I can't recall the site I saw it. Maybe a hint steel?

I forsee another 'chest up' raid boss if so. I mean... Tiamat?

I mean. If we get Venger too I'm all for it, but my gosh they'd have to get Tiamat just right.

Venger? I'd buy that for a dollar! What about Uni?

As for Tiamat - maybe they could just recycle the Conjoined Abishai?

Facing off with Tiamat would be fun, but what would be real exciting would be Tiamat with two raid options, the standard 12 man and introducing DDO's first 24 man raid, because if you're going to face a Tier 1 dragon god, you better bring some Red Shirts! That's exciting!

I read an article as well talking about the influence of D&D, interviewing WOTC people and other devs like Levine. I was surprised that it didn't mention DDO at all, but then it was talking about 5.0 and in that mentioned how neverwinter would be coming out with a digital expansion in regards to the work WOTC was doing releasing 5.0.

I just find it astounding that DDO was not mention earlier in the article at all. It mentioned Pool of Radiance; the game I cut my teeth on, on the computer and the reason I bought my first 8086 with a massive 640k memory and 20MB HDD. Pity, because while I can understand that it didn't reference DDO in regards to the new 5.0 - it should at least mention it earlier as a long running persistent incursion into D&D lore.

Due note he said "Pen and Paper", but would not surprise me to see more in DDO later this year related to this.

Guessing to coincide with the 5th Edition release of DnD.. Tiamat is one of the major campaigns upon the release. The Rise of Tiamat - http://i.imgur.com/xgDCsSl.jpg cover art.

Don't get me started on the travesty which is 5th edition..

If we can get the developers back on track to roll out Forgotten Realms content I certainly hope to see these things. This requires a creative element and a desire to not take old-hat existing content, tack some zeros on to the hit point total and call it new content. Tiamat, Anauroch, Waterdeep, Icewind Dale, and hundreds of other locations and plot hooks are available for use. The next logical step would certainly be Tiamat following the Thunderholme content.

I for one would think this game would end on a superior note of a raid of 12 level 30 adventurers can go up against a five headed Tiamat deity. That would be an awesome fight.
