Are extra Crystal Cove rewards included with the 20% challenge bonus going on?

This may be a dumb question but when it says, Now supports Epic Levels, does that mean that items now upgrade beyond Tier 3? Or does it just mean that there are harder levels that give you more ingredients and challenge epic characters?

I dont remember the last crystal cove? Is that a game breaker like Mabar? (I can remember Mabar).
Should I go and play something else for the next 2 weeks?
No longer reading the Forums.
The guide, particularly the first few pictures and associated call outs, is hysterical!

although it certainly has caused those sorts of issues in the past so don't rule it out - but actually if you've not run the cove before I would advise you do, it's lots of fun the first few times (or after a long break. Couple of weeks from september 19th and then nothing till the following september would be best) - it's certainly way more fun that risia, winterfestival or Mabar. O, how I hate Mabar.
Nice guide.
I killed a mob in the slayer area and got a heroic deeds, woot!
Picked up my compass and tier one rum flask already...
Resist energy is definitely a good idea vs the cannoreeries.
Meh, I know what Coddex will be forcing me to do for the next ten days.

just a thank you for the cove. Missed it when it was cancelled last pirate day.
It supports epic levels as in half-orc CR23 mobs spawn but the loot looks exactly the same.
I rummaged through Euphonias barter box (/giggle) for all 16 or whatever pages and...no lvl24 upgrades, no extra teir lvl20 upgrades.
The items are still trash, for the most part. I woulda been super pumped for a ML24 swashbuckler (epic parrying?, +3 insightful dex, green slot), a ML24 cove dagger (potency that isn't a joke, greater arcane lore, lesser metamagic x3 per day [no metamagics cost sp for 20s ]), and an ML24 ring (+8 dex, +3 good luck, green and colorless slots ).
The new potions look interesting but the cooldowns are sort of usefulness-killing. For 5000+ dragonshards, I think a 5minute cooldown on a 110pt heal is maybe not worth it. In that time you can unlock SF pots instead :P or reroll your gimp melee to have UMD.
Agree: the preview event seemed to run well - both on the island and in the caves. In terms of 'extra loot' - Epic level players were definitely getting a lot more doubloons (to the point that inventory space actually becomes a real issue) for slayer kills. Also there's more drops of Cove Compasses and Pirate Grog... or whatever the stuff is to increase rewards further. Can't say yet about the shard drops during the Cave/torch/crystal runs (had 2 of them during the preview; no chance today yet), but honestly, I'm not concerned there.
I will be farming hard.
Possibly the greatest part of the Cove is the hats. Superior False Life and a skill +10 hat is only ML 9. If you have any new characters they're easy to twink and cheap to make.
Tajawuka 20 Bladeforged Paladin running divine ETR's (3 ranger/monk/fighter pl's, 3 martial epl's) - Toolbots working on Morninglord Cleric life #2 (3 wizard/sorc/druid pl) - Evisra 28 rogue
Thanks for the info! I would have also appreciated an upgrade to the Dagger especially, which is so nearly useful but then--just isn't. However even some of my capped characters use the Spyglass and Ring, and their rare green slots make them very yummy now. For example, adding 14 PRR means a lot if you are wearing light Whisperchain, or for a heavy armor/no shield user. So, I'll be upgrading tiers on a few Rings, looks like.

SO **** DISAPPOINTING!
Question devs...after a few runs from each of us for fun and nastalgia, whats to keep us here? <--WHO will help with the turn-ins to get the door open? <--Once the door stops opening but twice per day, those looking for the rune-arm will give up or be angry.
AND, I could have sworn there was a post by DDO staff last year stating the gear in Crystal Cove was getting upgraded for the new level cap. <--why can I not find that post now?
Here I was, hoping that Turbine would look at the response from the one-day preview, and say, "Oh yeah, we forgot to add the lvl24 upgrades we worked so hard on." Alas, that was a wagonload of wishful thinking. No lvl24 upgrades to existing Cove gear is just... just... I don't have words.
Boo.

Well at least, with Gianthold around, there won't be many people in the Cove.
