U13 (Web of Chaos) Seal/Shard/Scroll/Token drop locations guide

Yea we should probably record this as it barely make any sense at all.. They were pretty weird in U13 to begin with, and now they make even less sense. Please post if and where you found any seals, and exact token/fragment finds. Also be sure to specify what difficulty you ran.


Current Web of Chaos Seal/Shard/Scroll/Token drop locations:
Seals drop from:

• Tahmaels Chest in the Lords of Dust. (Low rate: 5-6% on EN only, EH/EE chests are bugged)
• Merideths Chest in the Lords of Dust. (Low rate: 5-6% on EN only, EH/EE chests are bugged)
• Purify all three Altars optional chest in Lords of Dust. (Very Low rate: 3-5% on EN only, EH/EE chests are bugged)
• First locked Chest behind the optional lava-door in Servants of the Overlord. (DC61, does not scale, extremely low rate: ~0.5%/1%/2% on EN/EH/EE)
• Flamefangs Chest in Servants of the Overlords (Low rate: 5-6% on EN only, EH/EE chests are bugged)
• End optional Chest in the Spinner of Shadows. (Low rate: ~5%/6%/7% on EN/EH/EE)

Shards drop from:

• End Epic Chest in Lords of Dust. (~5%/8%/10% Droprate on EN/EH/EE)
• End Epic Chest of Servant of the Overlord (~5%/8%/10% Droprate on EN/EH/EE)
• End Epic Chest of The Spinner of Shadows (~5%/8%/10% Droprate on EN/EH/EE)
• The ritual Chest (behind the drow barrier) in Servants of the Overlord. (~5%/8%/10% Droprate on EN/EH/EE)

Scrolls drop from:

• Monster kills in any of the three quests in the Web of Chaos release, aproximate rates:
  EC: 1 in 200
  EN: 1 in 100
  EH: 1 in 60
  EE: 1 in 30

Tokens drop from:

• The Lords of Dust - Epic Chest:
  EN: 18-30 Fragments (25 Average)
  EH: 34-50 Fragments (40 Average)
  EE: 39-55 Fragments (45 Average) (This represents a nerf versus old epic, which rarely happens, I'd consider it a bug)
  
• Servants of the Overlord - Optional Ritual chest (cant be looted until quest complete):
  EN: 50-73 Fragments (60 Average)
  EH: 1 Full token
  EE: 1 Full token and 50 (Average) fragments
  
• Servants of the Overlord - Epic Chest:
  EN: 50-73 Fragments (60 Average)
  EH: 1 Full token
  EE: 1 Full token and 50 (Average) fragments
  
• The Spinner of Shadows - Epic Chest:

Base item droprate: Moderate on heroic, extremely high for items that drop on epic difficulties (Near 100% on EE).

• First locked chest behind the optional lava-door in Servants of the Overlord. (DC60, does not scale)
• The ritual chest (behind the drow barrier) in Servants of the Overlord.

Scrolls drop from:

• Monster kills in any of the three quests in the Web of Chaos release.

Tokens drop from:

2 seals during a run on the 1st chest in servants, but no shards. This was the other way around pre U14.

Never seen a seal drop in 20 times i ran LoD. Never seen a shard. Seen a few scrolls mostly the minor items.

In SoO, i never seen a scroll drop. Played it 6-8 times. Not real farm effort. I believe i saw a drop in the Firehound optional chest pulled by a party member. Did not pay attention if it was shard or seal. Did not do the elf ritual optional a single time so cannot say if that one is better.

Never seen a scroll drop in Spinner of Shadows. Got the Shard of Flameward last night from one if the Spinner of Shadow chest.

All were played in Epic Hard. I dont know if this is important or not.

I plan to farm the series a bit more this week-end. And will use screenshots.

PPS - for these who say that chest drop rates are borked accross the board since update 14, so far VoN and Sentinels were smooth for me. I am much more disappointed by Phirlian C, Sands, Web. I have not played others much. Generally scrolls drop too little to be really worth it compared to commendation and CC loot. IS this WAI to make us spend TPs?

Seal from optional end chest in spinner lastnight, no base items in it.
Shard from epic chest in spinner, base items in it.

No rhyme or reason to the setup far as I can tell. Think they devs just punch in random values.

Even the base item drops changed.. I could track that maybe too. (Droprates are over 50% on EH, and nearly 100% on EE, tho some only drop on heroic)

eg: pre U14, endchest of LoD had the envenomed blade, 1 token, but no shards.
Now it has no evenomed blade on Epic modes, some fragments, and a chance at shards.

post 14.1 Ive personally not seen a single seal on EH+, plenty on EN. Seen just about every seal bar the one I acutally want (typical)..

Was wondering if its just pure bad luck..or if the doublecross bow seal never drops in dust..and comes from one of the other 2 (it was bad luck, finally got it in dust..EN of course^^)

edit: found the darkstorm helm seal from fire lord in servants on..yup EN.

You may be on to something here. 3 ransacks through Lords of Dust on epic hard with no seals or shards pulled by any group members (usually 2-4 people). Was getting to the point where it didn't just seem unlucky any more.

I've ran The chain quite a few times since the patch. I've seen uniques fall in Lords of Dust on Epic Hard. (I dont run quests on epic normal). I recently acquired a Fury of the Flame shard in the end chest of Lords of Dust. I havent seen anyone pull any seals thus far & tbh scrolls dont seem to fall as much either like they were before patch. Servants of the Overlord has yet to show a unique, seal, or shard. Spinner of Shadows? what a joke. Ive seen the bastard sword unique drop, but no seal, shard, or even token fragments, but I didnt see fragments drop in the chest even before the recent patch. Idk about everyone else, but I swear since the patch the scrolls drop a lot less often in this chain... Shame they messed with a good system regarding token frags/whole tokens too.

since patch have ran lod 14 times full group 11 times 3 solo all on ehard have not seen 1 seal drop for anyone in any chest .. have seen a few shards drop in end chest and have recieved scrolls... i thought the seal thing was just horrid luck .was running hards cause i thought better chance of seal drop...obviosly should have been running normal

I'm going to add to this because we have been trying to get seal and shard for Templar's Retribution (B.sword). (If anyone finds a way that this is droppping with any odds I would love to know).

We did (roughly could be missing a few) LoD 10 times, Middle one 2, Spinner 12 all on EH (3-4 people)

Saw 1 seal pre 14.1, nothing post 14.1, almost no fragments, about 3-4 scrolls dropped

Did all chest including all optional only the middle one was worth more then a pinch of fragments

Problem is people run epic for the seals/shards not the base items.

Whereas alternatively I have to yet to see a single seal in over 20 runs of normal LoD since 14.1, including about 14 locked chests in servants (the first chest).

Not one seal. I've seen 2 shards, though. Also weird is that in 20 runs not one scroll... that's roughly 60 kills a run.

They really need to up the drop rates for this chain.
